Do you think Ditto should evolve?

I think it should learn something like thief, snatch, transform2, and role play when it evolves when at least level 50 AND traded with metal powder. :)

I think that it depends on how it evolves, it should not become some sort super Ditto as that would make it too strong.

Maybe if instead of increasing its stats when it evolved, it should change into whatever type of Pokemon it last fought, eg If the last Pokemon that it fought against was a Flying/Dragon type, it will become a Flying/Dragon type.

Maybe they will make it that Dittos will only evolve into a new type when it holds an Everstone and it defeats a Pokemon with only only 1HP to spare and when it does it can learn 3 other HM or TM moves.

Personally, {ditto} is too important in breeding. Unless it's new form had the same breeding ability. Otherwise no.

In the next wave of PKMN games (not remakes like FRLG) they could have the entire thing wrapped around a huge plot about a legendary pokemon morph! And then, you'd get all the pokemon in your dex, then you'd discover morph was an evolution of ditto, and it would have like, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and maybe a new leauge, so you'd go to pallet, talk to Prof oak, he'd record it all and give you an L20 ditto, then you'd have to keep raising it till it evolved (proably like, L100, 200? More? hard thing too do though) then go back and it'd be like the end of the game, so then youd just have eternity to play around. So, how's that sound for the next generation of Pokemon? it'd be like, Pokemon Sunshine and Pokemon Midnight! Ok, going a teeny bit off topic, but anyways ditto should evolve something like that, then he'd have these attacks,

Transform- transform into your opponent's pokemon
Morph- transform into any of your opponent, or your, partie's pokemon
Retalliate- Until the end of the battle you could learn the first of 4 attacks on your opponents attack list
Megaform- For 1 turn, change into any pokemon, you would know whatever moves they would know at whatever level (example: if you evolved 20 levels ago and turned into, Mew, you'd be a level 20 Mew)

I would appreciate some reasoning. Just saying no isn't enough for me. For me to make good decisions, I need others opinions. And those opinions need to be detailed.

it should not evolve because it can already turn in to any pokemon when in battle + it would be very hard to make a evo of it.

Well if it were to evolve some how hopefully it will have much better stats. I mean most of the time when a pokemon evolves it stats are much better! Like a {abra} for instince when it evolves into a {kadabra} it has better stats and then it turns to a {alakazam} with even BETTER stats.... sooo... if it does evolve ( although it would be hard to imagine) It might have way better stats since we had to suffer so long with a {ditto} stuck with horrible stats. Are ya getting all this?

That's true, I 100% agree with you; even though {ditto} doesn't look cute, it is quite useful, it can imitate all attacks of the opposing Pokemon though with less PP (power points).

ditto should evolve, or at least learn better attacks... (cant even learn mimic!) i think ditto should know transform, mimic, sketch, and mirror move (moves that sound like something a ditto could learn) that and transform should only last for a certain number of turns and it should keep your stats.

i know tghis is a little off topic, but has anyone here ever tried a ditto vs. ditto battle? its very funny because it will actually go on forever

Ditto should evolve. A good name for it would be Dopple (as in Doppleganger) My guees is that Nintendo would throw in porygons conversion and conversion2. Another move that would be good mimic (so it could compy a move and keep its type). Mirror move or mirrorcoat would finish it up nicely (and of course, transform would be there as well). To top it off, better stats would allow it to be useable in the game.

I dont think it should evolve..It wouldnt be much change if it does evolve..its just a piece of slime and if it was real and you pull it it would change size...slime could change size lol...they could change to any shape...so if it evolves it would be almost like exactly the same.

Personally, I don't use Ditto. I don't really think hes too important, and I've NEVER found him useful. The one and only thing I use him for is: Breeding.

But if he did evolve and learn something besides Transform, I'd be happy.

No.. First of all, I agree that Ditto shouldn't evolve.. It would just mess up.. "Ditto". And secondly, ever since G/S/C and R/S came. EVERY original suddenly had a new evolution or prevelution.. It would be nice if some, if only just 1 would stay the way it was.. Please..
