I got Red and my brother got Blue for Xmas the year they came out. Later my other brother got Yellow when it came out.

There is a very early memory of my big brother and his friends owning gameboys and pokémon games, I remember he let me play it for a while (Blue version) which was how I worked out how to play the game, I thought it was alright, a game for boys, but then after beating some wild pokémon I watched in awe as his nidoran evolved into nidorina.... and I was hooked.

My own actual first game (seeing as my brother wouldn't let me touch it after I made him miss his pokémon evolving, heh) was bought by my mother for me as a reward for saving up my own money for months and months to buy my own Gameboy Colour, it was the Yellow Version and thus far it's the only version that I've actually completed (caught) the whole pokédex on.

my first pokemon game was actually stadium 1 for the n64. about a year later i convinced my mom to get me a gameboy color, and i got pokemon gold. i later got pokemon red and yellow, which are my only first gen games. my collection after that is complete except for leafgreen and d/p

I got Pokemon Blue for Christmas, along with a Gameboy Pocket and two other games, the year it came out.




Anyone else realize that on September 1st this year, Pokemon Blue and Red would have come out 10 years ago?

haha Blue was my first, even though I started with {charmander} rofl. but i remember not finding flash and sitting under a really, really bright lamp to see the screen as best as possible to get through rock tunnel.

I brought Yellow first. I wanted to do the Missingno cheat so badly but then I found out they had fixed it.

The cameos of Team Rocket were fun though, with their trademark slogan.

Blue. For whatever reason, I wasn't into the whole "ZOMG CHARIZARD" thing, mostly because my friends were. Didn't know i could pick whatever starter I wanted though. :shock:

i got red and the truth is that i only remember playin it ONCE...although i think i was like 6 so its understandable...now i have yellow :D my fav pokemon game of all time...im pretty sure HG is gunna be my next fav pokemon game of all time

I got red 1st , a few days after the release date back in October '99

i never owned blue , as my mate had it , so we traded between us to both complete them :)

I then got yellow for Christmas and played it all day, even during Christmas dinner lol

I was like 4 when i got pokemon red. aha i was afraid of dieing(i thought that if a pokemon fainted, it'd die) so i made my mom play it for me the first week while i watched her. now my squirtle is a lv 85 blastoise.

I recently found my red version and finished beating the elite 4 and got mewtwo. after that, i felt good i finally completed it after almost 10 years...(8 years being somewhere in my closet)

Hehe, I started with yellow. Pikachu was awesome! I love how he followed you around and you could talk to him, even if he hated your guts at the begginning of the game!

My sisters and I all shared yellow and we played with our cousin. My sisters and I beat the e4. But finally we got another yellow and my other sister got Crystal.

I got yellow first too! sadly, i was five years old and couldn't even read yet. XD pokemon was how i learned to read, lol. out of necessity to play pokemon. :D
