I can't capture Mewtwo!!!! I have gotten him down to 1 HP and have tried paralysis and sleeping and on top of that I have used my Pidgeot's Featherdance which lowers attack harshly and I have also used my Muk's Screech which lowers defense harshly. He still manges to pop out after throwing several Ultra balls. To top that I have used Mean Look and Firse Spin to trap him. I have tried at least 50+ times. BUT HE STILL MANGES TO POP OUT EVERY TIME, REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY BALLS I THROW AT HIM! Help! I have already used my Masterball on my Legendary Dog (Suicune) HELP!

Well, lemme start off by saying that Featherdance and Screech aren't gonna help you. Lemme finish by saying what you're very much not going to want to hear: You're already doing all you can do. I recommend Sleep, get its HP as low as you can, and just throw Ultra Balls until you run out.

And get some Timer and Great Balls, I find it easier to catch with some Great Ball and Timers, for some reason it's harder for me to catch them with only one ball type.

False Swipe and a chansey/blissey. Mewtwo can't harm those pokemon so False Swipe his HP away then switch in a blissey/chansey. Timer and Ultra Balls. 20 Each. After all the Ultra Balls, throw the timers.

20 each? You may want a little more than that. At least 50 each. It can take from five minutes to five days to catch him.

....but timer balls suck...i waited till about 40 turns had past and almost all my pokeon were dead and he popped out immediately after throwing it

Timer Balls improve slightly after every ten turns, so they make take up to 50 turns or more to get really good. And just because the Pokemon pops up immediately after the ball was thrown does not mean that the Pokeball is totally ineffective.

Pushing the A button repetedly helps slightly as well incase no one knows this also I didn't find mewtwo to hard to catch I did it on my first try and his health meter was only half way down also I dont mean to brag but I caught him with an Ultra ball

If you are playing LG then try this foolproof plan:

Get a Vulpix and a Gastly/Haunter/Gengar.

Train Vulpix until it learns Grudge.

Put Vulpix in the first slot.

Go to Cerulean Cave and save in front of Mewtwo.

Send Vulpix out.

Use Grudge.

If Mewtwo doesn't kill you on the first turn, he will sooner or later. If he doesn't, just chip away at his HP. It doesn't matter really cos he has Recover anyway.

MAKE SURE MEWTWO KILLS YOU WITH PSYCHIC. If he kills you with Swift, you'll have to start again from the savepoint.

Once Psychic loses all its PP, switch out for your ghost and start chucking balls at him without fear of being attacked. I recommend 10 Great 50 Ultra and 20 Timer. That's what I used.

Note: If you are playing FR you will have to trade. Also, this plan will not work the other way round (as in get rid of Swift and use a Dark poke) because you will get hit by Struggle. A Ghost won't. And this plan will ONLY work on Mewtwo.

P.S. Not to brag but Moltres only took one Great and one Ultra...[/size]

This is a brilliant plan, I must say. Did you come up with it on your own?

Why not just evolve the Vulpix into Ninetales after it learns Grudge, train it to a decent level, so you know it'll not get KOed after one Psychic.

Actually I did this in my FR:

Team:
Sceptile-False Swipe, Detect, Fury Cutter
Butterfree-Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Silver Wind
Sableye(sure fire way of not getting KOed)-just to stall while chucking a lot of Ultra balls

Items:
Timer Balls x30
Ultra Balls x30

Start with Butterfree and use Sleep Powder/Stun Spore, then use Silver Wind until you think Mewtwo is going to be KOed if you hit it again,

Now use Sceptile that can protect itself incase Mewtwo is ready to KO you use False Swipe to ensure that it has one HP

Now swtich to sableye, and throw Ultra balls unitl you catch or run out, if you run out use your timer balls that should be wicked effective now.

Notes: Save before fightin Mewtwo!!!
If Butterfree is KOed before it can inflicted bad ststus on mewtwo restart!!
Scyther can replace Scptile, teach Protect over Detect then.

Struggle has become a typeless attack. That means it'll hit all Pokemon regardless of type, and it won't get STAB either. I know in RBY it was "Normal" and wouldn't hit ghosts, but they changed this in GSC and onwards.

To Papersun: Yes I came up with it myself. It seemed like a good reason to teach Vulpix Grudge and then a nice way to "play" with it. Although I can't say for sure if someone is going to come barging in and screaming that they made this plan up and that I stole it from them (which I didn't)

To Sneaky_Sneasel: The whole point was for Mewtwo to kill you with one Psychic, so you can catch him sooner. Big_Yanni apparently needs something like that

To TK: Aww man... But if you're lucky you can get Mewtwo before he runs out of PP. I did. And in that case you can use a Dark poke (like Sneasel or Murkrow, depending on game) BUT Swift has more PP than Psychic so you'll run into Struggle that much sooner. But why not just bring both and see which attacks gets Grudged? Or you could use Sableye right from the beginning, provided you have one.

Actually, I'm pretty sure pressing the A and B buttons have got nothing to do with making the Pokemon easier to catch. It was probably coincidental that it worked for you. Some guy started this rumour long ago and many starts to believe that  Even I did believe that before :P

Timer balls works great for legendaries.i think you should buy 200 timer balls and keep throwing them when mewtwo has 1hp and paralyzed and asleep.I used timer balls to catch most of my legendaries.ehehe. {mewtwo} is gonna be caught..probably

Well, you're bragging yourself

Please post helpful tips guys. It's no use telling him how easily you got Mewtwo if it's not gonna help him.
