Ya, it probabaly was a glitch. Do you know if your friend's cord was in the whole way?

That'd be a glitch, indeed. And yes, it usually does involve cable chords not being properly put in all the way.

The Red Tangela part is not a glitch. He was lucky to see a shiny pokemon. Some like Oddish and Majikarp can look differently. But the rest of the story, if that's what he saw, it is the glitch but the Red Tangela has nothing to do with it.

Girafarig: Your theory doesn't make sense mariopokemon; if he was just lucky to come across a red Tangela, then why did it happen on a link cable battle (especially if the person he was battleing didn't have one)? Why didn't it faint when he continually attacked it? My guess Um... is that it was just a glitche. Stranger stuff has happened.

I'm saying it is a glitch, but the Tangela being red isn't. It's a shiny pokemon. I've been studying me strategy guide and there's a red Tangela, but this is a glitch.

Woah...that's weird. I wonder how that happened. Technology is insane.

Hmm... A similar thing happened to me and my brother not too long ago, he sent out his Meganium (sp?) and out popped a Paris with the same moves, and my Mewtwo looked like a Venonat.

I think this occured from the link cable not being inserted properly. I think that each pokemon has a number for it's sprite, if the link cable is not connected properly then the numbers get scrambled.
