I, too, am disappoint. ah well, I never got around to shifting my Arceus to gen 5, so at least it saves me the trouble of doing that.

My pessimistic side says: I knew that the Pokemon fandom nowadays is completely hopeless. I don't even want to talk about this anymore.
My, eh, comparatively-more-optimistic side says: At least MUDKIPZ didn't win. If it did it would be a much bigger insult than Ar-"Omigosh-the-most-powerful-legendary-I-must-get-it-and-boast-to-my-friends"-ceus and M. Ewwwwww.
...I need therapy.

I would have actually preferred Mudkip to win over Arceus (but not over Ditto) because at the very least Mudkip does have a hidden ability, and the US has not received it yet. (Japan has, but Torchic are usually favored in that regard.)
Instead we get another Arceus. This is why I dislike small children.
Anything with a hidden ability would have been fine, and even the stuff like Mew/Darkrai/Deoxys I would have understood as we've gotten so few of them. The thing is, Arceus was way too recent. (I suppose Mew was too, but Mew is one of the classics, and Arceus doesn't even deserve to exist.)
I'll be getting the event just because it is an event and I like collecting events, but I won't like it.
On the plus side, I'll get to test the theory that Pokemon have a 0.3% chance of escaping from a Dream Ball. (I doubt it, though. I think every Poke Ball in the Entralink is set to have 100% success rate. But I'll see.)

These other comments are pretty much what I think: just little kids who think "OH MY GOSH I GET AN ARCEUS! NOW I GET TO SHOW OFF TO MY FRIENDS AND BEAT THEM IN BATTLE!!11" Its also rather annoying how Arceus won AGAIN instead of someone elso. And I can't even explain Mudkip other than the 'so i herd u liek him' meme. Oh and hey kids: there's a thing called ACTION REPLAY where you get to get any pokemon you want, and not have to ruin the dreams of competitive battlers!

Sorry DNA, but Mudkip's DW ability is so ridiculously useless that it makes the already annoying Pokemon have an even worse reputation. I would prefer nothing over that abomination.

I would prefer nothing over that abomination. i think he was looking at it from a collecting perspective, rather than a battling one. I agree, anything with a hidden ability would have been nice. a good hidden ability female would have been ideal. maybe next time...

As far as DW abilities go, most of the time I try to get them all for collection purposes, not for battling ones. There are very few exceptions to that, and those would be the ones that actually have useful DW abilities (such as Gliscor and Salamence, among others). Arceus has no hidden ability, therefore to get a DW event of one to me seems pretty much pointless. The only real perk is that you can actually nickname this one.

question: any pokemon caught in entree forest CAN be shiny, right? So we'll finally have access to a completely legit shiny Arceus?

edit - ok, i'm clearly going crazy. or rather, the ever so cute shiny speed boost torchic i had seen must have been a hack. such a shame. the availability of a legit shiny Arceus would have made up for the fact that it was picked in the first place.

Legit Speed Boost Torchic are actually incredibly elusive to find, considering the event was released as being level 10, male only, and thus locked out of egg and tutor moves AND the ability to pass the ability on. Oh, and only to Japanese PGL accounts so far.

Attachment: Giovanni Facepalm2b.jpg ...And that wretched deer doesn't even have any special move. Even that ozone snake gets an epic Wii Create.

Yes, I've seen it before... Usually I downright despise use of such language, but this picture has me laughing so hard I feel like a hypocrite. Especially how well it fits the current scenario. But my greatest fear is that Arceus might still roam the space IS NOWHERE SAFE?

I posted it because it was fitting.
I'd seen an edited one somewhere but I couldn't find the URL for it, unfortunately (it was the same picture - the profanity was just edited out). Dangit.
I'm just sad we didn't get Ditto.
