a friend told me that you can get mew in firered version. is this true and if so, what do i have to do?

I believe you can get a Mew in FireRed. However, you have to get an Old Sea Chart through an event or through a TCG competition (I'm not sure which one). That's the only way to get to Final Island (?) and see Mew. I think it's on Lv. 30.

You can only get Mew in Gen III in Emerald. The Old Sea Map event took place many years ago and gives you access to Faraway Island.
