My brother (and me, too) would like to know if the starters' shininess is rerandomized every time you switch through them (i.e: Moving from Chikorita to Cyndaquil on the Starter select screen) or if you have to soft/hard reset to rerandomize it. Could someone please help us with this? Preferably someone with substancial knowledge of the games' mechanics? |

Actually you can't tell till you've selected them, They won't apper to be shiny on the selectionscreen because it doesn't asign shininess , nature and IVs till you pick it from the rack. |

Um... When I got my shiny Totodile on SoulSilver, he showed up shiny on the starter select screen. Also, if this belongs in the HGSS Questions thread, I'll be happy to post it there instead. |

While yes it does belong there, no point in doing it now as your question is pretty much answered & also, I didn't know that they would show up shiny on the starter select screen, must be new to HGSS specifically...I am definetely shiny starter hunting again once I get HG oh yes I am... |
