exactly. while according to the stories they're ten, they don't look it. and in the real world, just because you can get a license at 16 doesn't mean you have to. this same rule should apply to getting your first pokemon.

but what would be really cool is say, a 10, 13, and 17 year old trainer for both genders. the game would automatically set the rival or best friend or whatever to be around the same age. then, we'd have a little bit more diversity.... plus, there's possibilities for making those the easy, medium, and hard modes for the game (though i think doing this through starters is just more sensical). i guess since kingerick's post set that idea for me, it's rather relevant... weird how that worked out...

I do like their designs, but they both remind me too much of Lucas and Dawn.

The male character is still kinda generic-looking, but I am quite digging his clothes and hairstyle. The female trainer looks cool but her outfit looks like a modified version of Dawn's. I also don't like her hair.

Me too...I also think that 10 years old is a little too young, even considering the target audience for the games & to add insult to injury, they in pretty much no way looked 10 years old...

I didn't think they were 10 until I saw their height and weight in the Pokedex.

yeah, they're always like 80 pounds and 4'8" or some bs like that. then they look like they're 13-15..... wonder what these guys' age will be??

Cause okay, the Guy looks older but then again, there is plenty of boys in anime that are 15 & look older, I think Ichigo from Bleach is one of them, can't remember if he is exactly 15 at the start of the series however yes the girl does seeing as her body hasn't matured that much yet(not pouting here, just saying)...

UNFAIL!!! lol and besides, i think they do look older. tho i'd place them at more 13-14, now, but that's just in hindsight.... either way, it's not like it'll make a crapload of difference in the game, probably only for the show/manga (ash's first real love interest?? or brock's?? lol)

imo, not really. the only thing i can think of would be if they were trying to pull in an older audience (iow, more people around our age, provided ur still in high school like i am). or maybe it's a way to introduce some more maturity or morals.
