An new "thing" has been discovered in HGSS. I called it "thing" because it is an object, yet it is neither an item nor an accessory. It's called a shining leaf. Although we know what happens if you have it on 5 of your Pokémon, we don't know its real purpose nor the way to find it.

Here is an article about it : Shining Leaf

Interesting. It must do something other than get you a star. maybe it raises the power of a pokemon with said nature.

Interesting. This reminds me of the Amity Square where a certain partner fonds an iyem. Now it's certain Nature certain routes. This might have a little backstory that involves that gold Forest.

Yeah, you're right. It's pretty cool how you get 5 of them and the character you didn't choose gives you a star for you're trainer card. But it's a bit challenging because it's in certain areas and you're Pokemon is gonna have it. So every now and then you will have check on your Pokemon.

Very interesting in fact... It could maybe unlock something in that area...

Something could be hinding in that glowing forest... A new pokemon perhaps ? Recently they people have discovered a new item the "Rock Capsule". Maybe there is a connection between these items.

It probably has something to do with one of the previously uncatchable pokemon. If it is a pokemon I would put my money on it being either Celebi or Arceus.

Can't be Arceus he already has his part in the storyline with the shinto ruins... so it's probably Celebi... or something else maybe ?

Actually, I believe Rock Capsule can be turned into Soul Dew if you take it to the Pewter Museum. I do agree with you about Golden Forest. It probably unlocks something there.

Since obtaining 5 Shining Leaves and showing Soul/Gold earns you a star on your Trainer Card, I doubt that they have another purpose, but they could have something to do with the golden area. However, the golden area of the map might just be meant to be the sun's glare or something, or it could be a location to catch some event Pokemon that you need a special item to unlock, like Hall of Origin and Newmoon island in D/P/Pt. I'm guessing that getting the 5 leaves just gets you the star, though.

There is all the information you could want about the Shining Leaf.

How to find. You can only find it in certain areas depending on your Pokemon's Nature. Refer to the table on the page for it.

Reward. A star for your Trainer Card and a crown for your Pokemon.

Look at the page for all the info.

Since the reward for the leaves is a star for your trainer card, provided no new card colours have been added, what star does it replace?

I believe it replaces the star that you win from the master rank beauty contest.
