I believe swifty is reffering to the fact that, in the toons, Pikachu wouldn't stay inside his ball and followed Ash everywhere... which just goes to show what an absence of Poke-discipline does to a pokemon. Spare the rod, spoil the monster...

Also, in Pokemon Yellow (a special edition of the original Red/Blue) I believe it was possible to get Pikachu to follow you around in game, ala HGSS.

And I'm totally gunna get to follow me around. Hehe, funny blob.

heh. i want to have a pidgey follow me, just to see if it walks or flies, flaps its wings, or what. then ill check out a magikarp. see if it flops around behind you. then ill finally choose pokemon that i actually like. maybe an eevee or eeveelution.

I don't think pikachu is original at all
the fact that it is ashes main pokemon, the main characther of pokemon in general, and it followed you in yellow makes it less original,
If pikachus anything, Classic is the word I'd use.

Having an Unown ? follow you is original.

if you want an original pokemon to follow you, have a sunkern follow you. its an inch high seed. lol, surely they scaled it up just like they scaled down wailord?

Lol yeh they will. Tbh I don't mind which Pokemon I have following me. I just keep the Pokemon thats the lowest level at the front of my Party, therefore I keep training all the time. After I'm happy with lots of Pokemon, and I start messing about, I'll probs have a Typhlosion following me, or maybe a Charizard or Infernape, I think they'd all look awsome!

I think I would like to see Palkia walk behind me.

i dont know what all of the overworld sprites look like, but im probably gonna try a snorlax, salamence, and/or gallade.

Snorlax would probably look hilarious following you around & as for what I want to see...Gallade as well, any normal/flying type pokemon, any legendary birds (including HO-oh & Lugia) & any pokemon that would look right moving fast like Dialga or Palkia as they actually fly through the air most of the time anyway...
