My first was a shiny Machoke I found in Victory Road back before the DS came out and I played the games on my computer, don't recall which actual game it was on though.

Second was a Gastly I came across in the Old Chateau in my Platinum after I caught Rotom, it's currently a Haunter and I'm undecided about what to do with it.

Third and final so far was a Drowzee I caught just south of Goldenrod in SS while simply levelling up my Pokemon; it's a Hypno now and residing in my PC as I had an urge after beating the Johto region to make up a new team.

I would actually train a Beldum if I found a shiny one though; Metagross is one of the best shinies in my opinion. I am also considering soft resetting until I get a shiny Rayquaza once I get around to borrowing my fiancee's Kyogre, but not sure yet.

Edit: I was amused the other night; my fiancee was training his Kabutops just inside Mt. Silver and encountered a shiny Donphan...and accidentally knocked it out since the attack decided it wanted to become a crititcal hit. Sucks for him but I thought it was highly amusing.

Only shiny Ive ever got was a shiny sharpedo, which luckily i caught and a shiny poochena in ruby before i had any pokeballs :(

I can't believe how many shiny's i have now though, loking on wifi, they are so common. I've only ever found 1 wild (rapidash {rapidash} ) But i've got about half a box full now. unbelievable.

My first shiny ever was a Shiny hoothoot in Crystal.

I got a shiny spinda in Emerald.
I caught a regular suicune in leafgreen. When I pal parked it, it became Shiny! :O

My first ever (legitimate) shiny was a Palkia in my jap Pearl.
When I went to battle the Palkia for the first time, it was normal, but I accidentally made it faint. Of course, I resetted the game and poof, it's shiny. Had to use my Masterball on it 'cause I didn't want to risk losing it.
I gotta say, a pink Palkia is rather suspicious-looking...

Apparently! I dont know the odds, but I do remember reading it was possible. And then it actually happened to me, I was shocked. haha

Haha, sorry but this is false information. When a pokemon is pal parked from gen 3 to 4 the IV's etc. stay the same meaning all hidden values do too. Including the one that determines whether it's a shiny or not. Because, if it worked like that it would mean a pokemon that was shiny in emerald and then pal parked it would only have that certain chance of being shiny again. So there's no way it could be a shiny without being shiny on the generation 3 game.

I have 3 shiny {zubat} no clones i have 3 shiny zubats i haven't even seen any other shiny pokemon besides the shiny {rayquaza} that it took 8 hours to catch

8 Hours? Did it take you forever to choose the move? I'm sorry, but how did you avoid it struggling itself to death? Unless you are talking about it taking you 8 hours of soft-reseting in order to run into one.

I'm sorry, but as much as I think it'd be cool to get a shiny legendary, I'm not wasting that much time on it. Especially since everyone will just assume you got a cloned one.

my first shiny was in saphire. i started a new game for my friend to try it out and he had a shiny torchic. i feel stupid about it because i didnt save. poo. oh, do shiny legendares look shiny in the overworld (meaning before you catch them)?

My first shiny was in Diamond. I was wandering Victory Road to level up my Mesprit for a while, and found it. I had no idea what it meant, but I figured that it was important ;) .

I eventually traded it for a level 100 Palkia. Eh.

green mewtwo in FireRed, accidentally killed it, as I didn't know what shinies were at the time.
gold geodude in Diamond
Red gyarados in Soulsilver

Got my first real shiny today a Wooper in the great marsh I was looking for an exeggcute but i ran into a wooper I was about to run away when i realized it was shiny I was so happy because I had almost !05 Hours on platinum before I saw a shiny and I caught it too It is also noe evolved I can k=now officialy change my sig to inform people what shinies I have

Anyway, my first ever shiny was a gray-looking {rattata} in Silver. Everything looks weird in Silver, but it sparkled and gave that weird sound. That's how I got the {rattata} . Otherwise, I would have run away from the now-insignificant Mouse Pokemon, as I owned a Lv. 100 {raticate} in there (okay, strictly speaking, it was someone else's, but they gave it to me for five dollars, but I had caught the Raticate as a Rattata and trained it up. If you don't count that, because it was someone else's game technically, then I'd say it was in Sapphire. I was training my {tropius} in the stretch of long grass between Mauville and Fortree, and I came across a {zigzagoon} . I was like: "Whatever!" and I didn't pay attention to what it was, and the sound was off. When I came back to it, looking more carefully before running away, I realized that {zigzagoon} s aren't red. So, I caught it. :)
