Hey guys. i beat red and finished game, but the walkthrough says that he comes back. he hasnt done so yet. is there something that i have to do to make him re-appear? or is it a time based thing?
Thanks.

Not sure of other methods, but I found that Red would re-appear after you beaten Elite 4.

It is a time basd thing. You just have to wait a day.

He Re-appears whenever you beat the Elite Four. Not time based.

Yeah, that's right isn't it, my Element is Earth according to Eastern Astrology...I guess I win, jk...

I believe this is simply because he is a character that was once in poccession of the player via pokemon RBGY so they didn't want to give him any speech patterns, etc...

My Dark team would rape both of you. ;D

And i think that red doesnt say anything because, he is supposed to be the character from RBGY...YOU in other words...
This means, since in RBGY you dont actually properly talk to anyone in the games so on GSC he doesnt say anything and also he is the 'strongest' player in-game which is 'what you were' in RBGY so...yeah.

I would say no because of the Hail Weather plus Blizzard being on multiple team members, even Snorlax though?! & because you actually had to have pokemon around LV70 to beat him in the remakes...

I would say yes however because even though you could mop him up with LV55 or higher pokemon in GSC, the Hail weather condition makes some of his pokemon bait, Pikachu has Volt Tackle so even when your losing against Pikachu (if possible), your winning against Pikachu because of recoil damage, you can just bring a Blizzard user that's an Ice Type & around level 75- level 80 & mop everything on his team except maybe Lapras & maybe Blastoise with what I like to call "Perfect Blizzard" without the Hail setup part needed (though you most likely will have something for the remaining 2 anyway) & finally because there is just more moves you can use to easily take out any of Red's pokemon as oppose to the GSC days where most of this was not available...&...

Ah! but when i suggested and helped you with your team i also noted the weakness.

I didnt EV. train my rock type team though.

I will my next gimmick team.

@ cody- the red battle is easy. lead with a hippodown which starts sandstream and walls the pikachu completely

Dude, I meant in terms of having a party not made specifically to take him down no it's not...

I'm not really a competitive battler but on top of that, I don't have a single member of this Ground Team trained yet so...

What I don't understand is why there is even talk of Hippowdon. That Pokemon does not exist until Gen IV, while this is Gen II we're talking.

As to why Red doesn't talk, it's "creative license". (Just kidding, it probably references prior games, like Darkrai-follower said...)

AEPMT  ;) 8-)

Dude, someone asked a question regarding a comparison of Gen II's Red battle & Gen IV's Red battle & it led to me saying that Red in HGSS isn't easier then the one in GSC which led to KingErick saying this...

We are talking about GSC Red but was having a minor discussion which was to attempt to compare him to his HGSS counterpart who is almost the same...

Haha, woah do I know how this feels because this senario happens to me alot in the pokemon games like when I was facing Pryce in the Soul Silver Version & like when I was facing lance in the Gold Version, it really does feel great to get lucky like that since luck is random in this game...
