My emerald is out of battery, so now the clock doesn't run. Without linking up, is there a way to fix it?

The internal battery can only be fixed by sending your game to Nintendo, where they can replace it. The internal battery is a hardware problem and not the same as the berry glitch (which if I recall correctly does not affect Emerald anyways).

Ah. Thank you. but, do you think, they still do it now? Or can GameStop etc. do it just as well?
Sorry for all of these questions, but I really want to grow berries again.

I have no idea whether they still do it - but I am 99% sure that stores such as GameStop would not have the supplies needed.

You may consider getting a DS and moving to 4th gen, or finding a cheap Ruby/Sapphire to grow berries.

If your battery is dead and you still want to play your game, it's worth it to spend the effort to replace the battery yourself. The guide on replacing your battery for GSC applies here, too. The first time is hard because you have to carefully pry the tabs off, but every time after that is much easier. Tape is a good idea after the new battery is in to keep it from flopping around. You might have to restart your game to get the clock to restart, I can't remember if it's necessary, but you won't lose your save file just from replacing the battery unless you break the game itself. Be careful with it, and I recommend keeping it in the half of the plastic case while you're working.
