First one had to be Pidgey. I caught Rattata right after that once I had more Pokeballs, and I try to catch all the Pokemon on a route no matter what game it is...

Weedle, I think. I didn't have a real partner, though, til I caught Moltres. I was kinda stupid, though. I just caught pokemon and used them til I coujld find better ones to use beside my starter, Charizard on one came and Blastoise on the other. |

my first caught pokemon was abra above ceruelian city but my first obtained pokemon other then the starter was my magikarp lol best 500 bucks i spent. |

Oh yeah, it was the Magikarp I bought for 500. :/ I was such a n00b then. On a National-basis, my first really caught was a Bidoof, I think. My mom finally let me get a game after D/P came out. |

Caterpie. I didn't realize you could catch pokemon until that far, so I caught a Caterpie, and Butterfree was always my second best in yellow. |

That's unfortunate, but cool. Butterfree is underused because of its bad stats, imo. But it's true that you can catch Pokemon on routes before that, just not in the story because of the Oak Errand. Too bad you missed out, Pidgey would be a great candidate for an early Fly Poke. AEPMT
