It is possible to have good stats on your dogs. I can't remember their exact stats off the top of my head, but my Suicune can take hits all day, my Entei slaughters anything with high attack, and Raikou owns everything with high speed and Special Attack.

I think they can have 31 HP, but everything else is 0-1. IVs make only a 7% difference, so it won't matter much anyway. If they're from Colliseum, they can have any IVs.

Nintendo isn't that stupid. But if it is true, then you better have pokemon with mean look, and good speed.

The Roar glitch exists, as does the IV randomizer glitch. If you reset the game, then the game would not save the legendary dog disappearing through Roar. In any case, Mean Look does not block Roar unless the trapping pokemon has Soundproof.
