Do you level up / train your event pokemon?

I have a few event Pokemon but i've just kept them as they are.

I don't. I have the Alamos Darkrai and the Gamestop Deoxys and I don't plan on training them. I used to desire to train them, but not anymore ; they're novelties. I got another Darkrai and Gamestop Deoxys and I trained them, but not the ones I got. Those two are special. :D

Considering the only event Pokemon I have are Failrai and Deosuxy, no. When cool Pokemon like Shaymin and Mew become available on D/P then the answer would be yes.

You don't need a event to get Mew. If you get a Wii and download My Pokemon Ranch from the Wii shop channel transfer 999 pokemon to the ranch and soon a Mew will be there that you can transfer to diamond and pearl

...Not everyone has a Wii, not everyone wants to download My Pokemon Ranch and I don't know anybody who would transfer 999 Pokemon to it. If they ever do an event for the Pokemon, it's way easier, especially they way they've been doing them now. :|
