In the Mawville Pokemon Center, there is a man
He sits at the top left corner.
The first time I played, he was a guy who I could trade items in my secret base for other items that go in my base.
The second time I played, he was the Bard. He sang me a song and I changed one word so then he kept singing me "Shake it do the Absol Dance."
The third time I played, he is the Story Teller. He wants to know of any legendary stories or trainers.

I'm not sure if this is on the site.
I'm not sure if this is a glitch.

Can someone please tell me why this is happening?

PS- Its in Emerald

Thanks
HTP

EDIT:
I forgot to say that the Trader had blue hair,
the Bard had green hair,
and the Story Teller had pink hair.

In Mauville, there is a random person at the corner of the Pokemon Center, where you said. He changes when you start your game over, and when you mix records with someone else (each gets one of the other's weird characters).

I think there are about 7. The ones I recall are Giddy, the Trader, the Bard, the Story Teller...ah, that's all I remember. But it's no bug. It's one of those weird perks that's frequently overlooked.

Wow, did you figure that out by yourself? You must pay a lot of attention to the NPCs to notice that; I've never heard of that before.

It took me almost 5 minutes to get my Emerald Version to work (guess it's because I haven't played it in ages), and apparently he's a trader in my game.

I have either the hipster or the storyteller. I liked to look at my friends records and laugh at how random he'd be.

W-what's that?! Y-you saved 342 times?! That's a new record!

So now that makes it 5? :?

There's:
Bard
Giddy
Hipster
Storyteller
Trader

Actually it was in the Nintendo Power player's guide to Ruby and Sapphire =
So, no, I read it in a book.
I then tested it for real to see if it worked....and it does.

I think Krisp was talking to me, and I did figure it out myself.
I do not have Nintendo Power

What colour did the Hipster's hair?

Maybe blue, but the hair color of NPCs isn't something that, for me, is worth paying attention too.
What I do know is that they're all the same sprite base with different hair colors, but whatever colors they are doesn't really matter to me.

It was like the Storyteller, but a bit lighter. (Pinkish)

And, for the record, Giddy has yellow hair.
