Hi,

I'm not new to the pokémon games but i always played them like the little kids not knowing what iv and ev's where. I now know some things about it but what i'm thinking is that i actully know nothing about how to spread it good, what attacks are good, and wich stats i should train. Also are there some things i really need to have. Like the other thread someone said you really need a spinner in your team for toxic spikes but is this really nesseary.

Could someone explain it a little more to me?

IV's are numbers which depend the stat (Highest IV is 31)
The higher the IV the better

EV's are points you can give to raise a stat you have 510 EV's to use
A stat can only have 255 EV's
You get EV's by beating certain Pokemon for example a Magikarp will give you 1 Speed EV
With Pokerus you get twice as many EV's per Pokemon you beat and with the Power Items (Power Anklet, Power Lens etc.) You'll get for more

So if your Pokemon hold a Power Anklet, has Pokerus and beats 1 Magikarp it will get 10 EV's in speed

Choosing which EV's you should train depends on the Pokemon and how you're planning to use it
A shuckle for example should be trained in Defense and Special Defense and not in Speed and Special Attack
If you want a Sweeper you'll probably go for Speed and Attack or Special Attack

Spinners are often usefull especually with Stealth Rock but you might need the move slot for something else

Hope I helped

Thanks for helping me. So lets say i would train a dragonite as 'sweeper' than i would train it a little on speed, on attack and sp atk. And i would say learn it Earthquake, Dragon Dance, Thunderbolt and Brick Break. Something like that?

Of course it is the best thing to have an nature in that gets the atk higher and lowers something else but not speed or sp atk. And the iv of attack, sp atk and speed as close to 31 as possible right?

If you want to Train a Dragonite you can better make it a Physical Sweeper instead of Mixed

Train Dragonite in 252 EV's Attack, 252 EV's Speed and 6 in HP
Moves:
Dragon Dance
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Thunderpunch

Unless you prefer other...

Try to get a high Speed and Attack IV

Again... Hope I helped

You have to balance out a team who has enough attacking strength as well as defensive strength...having counters is good, but don't overdo them....I would encourage you to have counters for commonly used strategies like Baton passing, Force Switching and Stat Pumpers.
