What is the best bug-type damaging move, not just in terms of how much damage it does, but how cool/interesting/weird it is to use? If you were a bug pokemon, which would you be, and which attack would be your favourite to use? Or would you stay away from bug attacks altogether? Or would you prefer the non-damaging attacks (Spider Web, String Shot, Tail Glow)

If I was a bug pokemon, I'd be dual-type, most likely humanoid. Probably Scizor, though Yanma and Ninjask sound good. If i was a Scizor, I'd use Fury Cutter, cuz i like fury. Yanma can't even learn a bug-type attack, so scratch that idea. As a Ninjask, I'd have fury cutter or leech life, cuz i like whittling away the opponent's life slowly and painfully

(oh, yes, i did list all of the 3rd gen bug-type attacks, for those who are wondering)

I would be a Masquerain, because I once trained it for beating the Gym Leaders and E4 in my Sapphire.
My favorite move would be Silver Wind, the only good Bug move that Masquerain learns.

But, if Flygon were a Bug/Dragon Pokemon I would be him. I remember that I read here in the forum that Flygon should have been Bug type, and I agree with the person who said that, because he is even in the Bug Group

One word: Illumise. Ok, I'm a man, but you see, Illumise is just cute. And Megahorn. but Illu does not learn megahorn, so I go with Silver Wind. But the coolest is Signal Beam. Illumise+ Signal Beam+ 4th Generation= :D
But Masquerain might be nice too, as it has Intimidate and learns Water Pulse and...yeah, that's it. Go {illumise} go! Ok, Heracross' Megahorn owns, but I still prefer {illumise} .

I would be Scizor, cuz he is cool. And I would teach it silver wind, but first I would use a Blissey and Dunsparce, Blissey skill swaps w/Dunsparce and Dunsparce is swiched w/Scizor, then skill swap again and hope to raise all stats. I tried it a few times on the fronteir and it works fair.

The 4th Generation has made some more decent bug moves. Up to the 3rd, the better bug moves were Silver Wind (only base 60 damage and a mere 5PP) and Megahorn (killer unless it misses). I like Signal Beam the most, but it's a shame that those who could possibly have access to it have relatively low Attack stats (except Ariados, but it's so slow that it would probably be killed off before it could start attacking).

The fourth generation has done some justice to bug types everywhere, with new attacks like X-Scissor and Bug Bite (hmm...i wonder what type that is... ). But the truth is that in previous generations, not enough attention was paid to bugs, and they have been squashed beneath greater pokemon's feet. :( You have all raised interesting points, none of which i disagree with. Nintendo will pay dearly for ignoring bugs, and when pokemon rule the world, the bugs will rule the pokemon!

(whoa, that sounds too much like a formal speech...i should make a living out of this :D )

And flygon as a bug/dragon would be cool, even though it would have 4 weaknesses. However, it would also have 5 resisitances, so thats cool

So far ther are many favourites. megahorn is ahead. i think more people are choosing megahorn because of it's power. also think about what side affects the attacks have, and how cool it would be to use it if you were a poke.

Megahorn rules. It has superb power and a highly appealing move in contest.

Megahorn in terms of sheer power, but fury cutter can come in handy in tough battles.

 String shot fo' lyf!

My favorite Bug move, and the one that I use most frequently, is Fury Cutter. The never-ending-doubling of the base power means you can sometimes use it to take out entire teams, if you don't miss.

Power based megahorn wins 100% times.

However, I have to agree with JsXtm in the fury cutter thing, it has so much potential, and yet is so underused.
