lapras v.s. walrein which one should i train

Post subject:  lapras v.s. walrein which one should i train
my intention is for a water/ice tank
so which is better
this is what i've come up with so far;
lapras:
higher hp
higher SD
more versatility

Walrein:
higher defense
higher speed
higher SA
less versatility

what are your opinions? Which would be a better choice for a tank?

I like lapras, mainly for the fact that its not stuck with rest/sleep talk/surf/ice beam, but it also gets T-bolt, Thunder, Confuse Ray, Sing, and Water Absorb.

Most say Walrein is better as it has more balanced defensive stats, and thick fat giving resists is better than water absorb immunity.

Lapras, IMO

i know what ur saying but i personally prefer water absorb as a characteristic because i give lapras the option for a free switch swith in on a surf / hydro pump (for those so prefer more power to accuracy)

I prefer Lapras as your tank to be trained, for it has also has good attack stats and is immune to water type attacks because of its ability: Water Absorb..[/quote]

While Walrein could have burn and freeze protection, it can't learn many good moves, and Lapras owns it with it's Water Absorb and it's wider moveset. Plus you don't have to evolve anything to get a Lapras, when you compare it to having to evolve a Spheal twice.

I think you should choose the one you like the most, and train that one. Or do what I do, train them both and use them in a double battle! :D
