Yes - pokemon with Poison type cannot be poisoned. Like pokemon with Fire type cannot be burned, and Ice type cannot be frozen (IIRC, all others work on any type).
Also, tanks/walls can be Toxiced and Rest it off.

Rest eliminates other status conditions as well.
Additionally, Grass types cannot be affected by Leech Seed. It makes sense that Poison types can't be poisoned, Fire types can't be burned (but oddly Water Pokemon can), and Ice types can't be frozen, as that is their element.
Yeah the Leech Seed isn't a condition, but it's like one.
There are no types of Pokemon immune to paralysis, sleep, or confusion though.

No types, but of course limber, insomnia, and other abilities have those effects.

Also be careful who you're poisoning, some pokemon like Kadabra have the 'syncronize' ability and your pokemon will be aflicted with the same status ailment you've just dished out (unless otherwise immune)

I don't think you can bring in legends to the battle fronteir.
Regardless - it needs an attacking move.

You can bring certain ones in. All the trios and the Lati@s (but excluding the Weather Trio) are allowed. I think most other legendaries are banned.
(I use Latios, Brandon uses Legend Trios, and the rest are dispersed between the other brains.)

all the trios (i.e. articuno, zapdos, moltres, reikou, entei, suicune, regirock, regice, registeel) and the latias and latios are the only permitted legends in the battle frontier
peanut lover: not all pokes need attacking moves (i.e. shuckle only serves as a toxi-tank) and for registeel i wanted to incorporate toxic in the moveset because with so many resistences, and impressive defences alongside iron defense and amnesia he is near impenetrable, so toxic would be very effective my only concern is that some pokes are immune to its effects and other pokes could be carrying lum berry or some other poison curing berry. but while i set up my opponents would not be taking any damage plus his attack isn't that impressive also registeel could come up against a wall. but after my setup with toxic i wouldn't be able to inflict any additional damage. this is my delima, either be a toxi-tank or cause dismal amounts of damage

Be careful... Toxic is nearly useless when battling tanks with lots of HPs.
