Post subject:  Why didn't i recruit Mewtwo ??
Playing pmd red rescue team, i (finally) arrived to Western Cave 99, I killed Mewtwo, but he didn't join my team !!!!
WHY ???

I am a lvl 82 blastoise with a lvl 55 Charizard !!!!
And I had his Friend Aera!!
It took 1 hour.... Please explain me :( [/list]

Wait ... how? You had 2 Pokémon with you, allowing you to recruit one more. Mewtwo's recruit chance is 99.9%, and since you are a level 82 Blastoise, the level adds 17.5% chance added onto Mewtwo's recruit rate, therefore going above 100% (but rounded down to 100%). Is that the first time you defeated him? If it is, you have to do it all again (I know, painstaking) and then it is sure to join.

Hyperbole's right. He's not a first-time recruiter, as with most of the story mode legends, along with everyone from the Ho-Oh story arc. So that might explain it, because Mewtwo is part of that arc...either way, you have to do it again.

well who hit the last hit bc i dont know if this is true bu i think u have to have ur leader deliver the last blow

That is the case with all Pokemon you wish to recruit. I believe Sarahh had already known this.

Well If HAve The Pokemon Guidebook It Say You Need To Deafeat Him Twice
These Could Be The reasons Why Mewtwo Did Not Join

You LV Was Not High Enough
Your Leader Did Not Deliver The Last Blow
You Have Deafeated Him Twice
You Killed Him When You Where Facing Him Diagonally
Not Enough Room On Your Team
You Didn't Have His Freind Area
Your Rescue Rank Wasn't High Enough

So Make Sure You Have All These Correct
Adn Your Probaly More Liek To Recuit Him

I hate it when people capitalize every word in a sentence. Rescue rank has nothing to do with recruitment chances, and neither does facing him diagonally. you just have to be in one of the 8 squares surrounding him, and your leader must deliver the final blow. Also, if your level is actually high enough to defeat mewtwo, then you have a 100% chance to recruit him.

Basically though, it all comes down to fighting him the second time.

The three guides above should cover everything, though the Legendaries guide is missing the info that Mewtwo cannot be recruited on the first try.
