Check it out. GameStop is having a tournament for D/P on July 21st. I'm so going to be there.

I'm going to call them on my break in about half an hour and see if they can give me any details, like time it starts, set up of the battles, and if any pokémon are not allowed. I'll post what I find out here.

Granted, the rules may be different for each individual GameStop, so please call your local one to make sure of the rules.

If this would fare better in the Battle Tower, please move. I just felt this would get to more people if posted in the Sinnoh Region forum.

Edit: Sorry for people outside the US, this appears to be a US only event...

Also, I called my GameStop at 7:30pm, no answer. Everything closes early around here on Sunday though. I'll try tomorrow, will post what I find out.

Guys, you don't need a Wii for this. Only Diamond or Pearl and a DS. Make sure it's charged, since you'll be using the local wireless during battles.

Also, don't expect that legendary Pokémon will be given out. This is not a Nintendo event, this is a GameStop event. They have various tournaments for different games all the time. Most likely the free gifts will be toys/keychains/stuff like that.

Update: Called them this morning, the guy on the phone barely had any idea of what I was talking about. He said they'd be getting an email in a few days about the details. I'll call them back then. :3

Update Again: Should be at 2pm, battles will be at level 50 all, no pokes with a dex number higher than 490, 4v4 (but the email didn't say if it was double battles or not). Please call your local store for details, though.

Phail@me. Oh well, I wonder what Pokemon they're giving away as a gift? Probably not Shaymin, Arceus, or Darkrai. They haven't even done the Japanese events for that yet.

Hmm...Both of the Gamestops in the city I live appear to be sponsoring it.
Not like it matters.
They probably won't allow legends (not even one), and my team is a whole lot better just by putting one legend in it.
I've never ever liked the gist of 'tournaments', because they don't allow certain things.
If they were real tournaments, they'd allow everything. That's why I think the Battle Tower and Battle Frontier isn't real battling. Just fake and restricted.

What are you talking about? You just need a DS and Pearl or Diamond!

It doesn't look like the GameStop in the next town is doing this event. :(

I looked at all the locations in Ohio that were doing it, and none of them are near me. They're all in central, southeast, southwest, and northeast...no northwest. Oh well, I don't even have a car to drive, so...

Well I only have one new one near me and it isn't sponsoring it unfortuneately. I was fortunate to go to a tournament that was sponsored by a local used game dealer. $25 to enter but it was worth it, the prize was a New Battle Revolution.

Well after 16 people were done with double elimination I finally WON with only one loss (gyarados and Electivire got WORKED right off the bat, so I fixed that next game)Well seeing as I had already bought it, I gave it to the guy who placed second who was actually pretty darn good. So now we chill on Wi-Fi and I told him about this site and he said he will probably join when he gets his comp back.

GameStop is a gaming store in US (and maybe other countries?), check the site for California tournament locations.

I called my store for details today. The guy had no idea that the rules were going to be, they were getting an email tomorrow or so about it.

<b>E</b>lectronics <b>E</b>ntertainment <b>E</b>xpo - it used to be <i>the</i> biggest video game convention PERIOD. Sadly, the costs of running the show outnumbered what the vendors were promotion, so...last year? I think, they shut down E3 for good. Technically it doesn't exist anymore outside of legends and memories. This past E3 was a gimped version of the origional (or so I hear - don't quote me on any of this, it's all heresay), put on by different folks other than E3.

Bottom line? HUGE VIDEO GAME CONVENTION. Done.

Also re: GameStop tourney - Ohmanohmanohmanohman, so excited. My team is actually near level 50, so for the first time in my Life I might actually have a legal team to enter with (legal meaning level 50 against level 50; we shall not speak of the level 50 versus level 100 at the 10th Anniversary competitions). Here's hoping this'll actually break my loosing streak, :/
