....and decide to go back and train a bit-can you fly right back to the pokemon league? or do you have to do routes 26 and 27 all over again?

I thought when you "whited out" (or was it blacked out?) you went back to the Indigo Plateau front door, so you didn't need to use Fly.

If you are defeated by the elite 4, you will go back to the pokecenter at the indigo plateau.

If your asking if you can train your pokemon anywhere on the map and then fly back to the pokemon league, then yes you can.

You can go train after you lose and Fly back.

You could, ut you don't need to, it's not a long walk to victory road, the highest level pokemon yet.

When going up against the elite 4 for the first time buy all the potions and stuff you need, then go give all of your left over money to your mom.
So when you go up against the elite 4 and if you lose and get whited out or whatever, you don't lose any money. Exept for the bit you may of got from the elite 4. So if your Pokemon aren't very strong just keep on challenging untill you win.

i personally have never died at the elite four and always found em to be pretty easy. all u need are mid lvl 40 pokemon.

if ur really having trouble, go for the full heals and the hyper potions (or just full restore), and revives. if u still cant beat em either train up lvl, revise ur movesets, or duplicate ur healing items if u want to cheat.

In Johto I always found the elite 4 easy, I died about 3 times in the original one though, according to my cart ice has anadvantage over EVERYTHING. I tried every type and Loreli's ice attacks said Super effective! So the original elite 4 was almost impossible, but the new one was pretty easy, but the best places to train are victory road and fighting the elite 4 themselves.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but it took me awhile to beat the E4 the first time, since I only had {meganium}, {ho-oh} and {gyarados}, I still remember going up against Dragonite with Meganium. I barely won with Razor Leaf.

For items, Full Heal, Revive and Lemonade work the best.

When I first went up against the elite 4 I lost, got smoked so bad. So I started all over again from the start and didn't fill them up with $#!+ moves like cut.

lol, i always seem to beat em with mid lvl30s, usually everyone on my team is around lvl35 by the time i get there, and by the time i get out, i have everyone around lvl36, and one of em around lvl 40 :P (usually a {tauros} )....

i also always find the elite4 extremely easy... all you need are one or two pokemon with good stats (they dont even need to be at a high level)... for me it usually ends up being a tauros with return/headbutt, earthquake, irontail, and rest... that and any flying/psychic type to take care of bruno (doesnt even have to be strong) its only when i get to lance that my high 30s lvl tauros wont completely cut it anymore (usually gets through aerodactyl and charizard and even gyarados if i dont have someone with thunderpunch)... but agaisnt the dragonites ive managed to beat all 3 of em with nothing but a lvl33 ursaring with icepunch... so yeah, theyre pretty weak...

Um, A LV. 33 Ursaring's stats are pretty bad, A Blizzard, Thunder, Fire Blast, Outrage or a Hyper Beam would probably kill it, trust me I tried the same thing, KO'd both with one move.

well dark is weak against bug and fighting, but I would go with a fighting type, like {machamp} or {primeape}, or even possibly a {poliwrath} with Surf, Ice Beam, Earth Quake, and Submission, using Submission on {umbreon}, Surf on {houndoom}, Ice Beam on {vileplume} and {murkrow}, and Earth Quake on {gengar}

a good idea, but id go with the earthquake against houndoom, considering its extremely poor defense rating combined with {poliwrath} 's high attack (with a sufficiently strong {poliwrath} , it wouldnt matter either way though ;) ) and technically given stab, submission would be even better, but simply because of recoil, earthquake, cause houndoom has no attacks that can do more damage than recoil would (both flamethrower and crunch are not very effective against water and fighting)

Dark types are weak against bugs. But only for {umbreon} . {houndoom} will fry you before you dish out your second attack so surf for {houndoom} , Mega Horn for {umbreon} , Flamethrower to wpie out {vileplume} , Thunderbolt can fry {murkrow} , {gengar} and will faint with on Psychic blast!
