I got 2 shinies in GTS trades, but I haven't seen or caught any yet.

1. Shiny Medicham (LV 38) for Munchlax.
2. Shiny Garchomp (Japanese Lv 50 holding Lucky Egg) for Lopunny.

::chuckles:: Go out to your local used video game store and try to find a copy of Pokémon Gold, Silver or Crystal. That's the only way to get a shiny Gyarados.


Backstory: In G/S/C you are "given" a Gyarados in the game. It's in the Lake of Rage and a plot-point in the game is to go catch the "monster" that's "threatening the Lake" - it's a a shiny!Gyarados and the only shiny you are ever given. Most old Trainers don't count that Gyarados as a shiny because everyone who had G/S/C had one (unless they fainted it, XD).

i got my shiney earlyer this weak, on the way to thwart team magma in Emerald, i though one of my 60 ultra balls i had on hand to catch it, *btw, i like to have a master ball incase i find a shiney guy with roar/ect*

wow I made that mistake as well it makes me mad though all that work to find out the things a dud.
Anyway I'm preety sure that in Diamond and Pearl the likelyhood of encountering a shiny pokemon is by far lower than in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald in my Emerald I had 2 Shiny's and in my Sapphire I had 3
but so far in Pearl I've played 220 hours and have 0. :(

On my Pearl game, I just caught a shiny Gyarados yesterday in victory road while EV training Gible in attack. Was excited and just threw a master ball, my first shiny encounter.

Though I spend most of my time trying to get a shiny ditto, (over 4 boxes of captured dittos to check IVs) but I know that will never happen.

My first shiny would be one I got at the GTS. An untouched Japanese Palkia. It made me sad at first, since I found several shinies (Riolu, Ho-oh, Dialga, Latios, and a few Palkias) on the GTS that were expensive (costing like Mews and Deoxys'). But just today this one was way in my price range. All it cost was any Ekans so of course I took it. Happiest day ever.

The only shiny Pokemon I ever found besides the red gyarados in silver version was a female nidoran, also in that game.

I have never found a shiny in Diamond but i saw shiny nindoran in the safari on FR i ran away though, when i realised it was a shiny i went on a rampage and used a level 2 pidgy for stress relief.

So far never seen a shiny in D/P but I did catch a shiny Loudred in Emerald.I saw a shiny Caterpie but I RAN AWAY I was so mad I killed at least 10 inoccent Pidgey and Rattata..... i felt a little better.But I was still steaming so I whipped out my Emerald and went crazy in the Battle Arena and got a gold symbol.. :D

I doubt anyone will believe me but I saw two RED kecleons in battle tower and they looked like they were using Iron Defense when they sparkled. I saw an ORANGE poochyena when it attacked Birch and sparkled like a G/S/C pokemon and I saw a blue medicham in battle tower which was normal. I saw a shiny skarmory in Battle Pyramid. I saw a shiny abra, threw an ultra and...SHOOT!IT WAS SO CLOSE TOO! Then it teleported. Then I got pokemon diamond and got better luck!!! I had been playing for exactly 52 minutes and then a wild Bidoof appeared!*sparkle* :shock: And I threw 1 poke ball and caught it!!! It is now a bibarel! But as you can see I havw very bad luck with shinys. But what can I do?*sigh*

p.s. I also got a shiny deoxys with pokerus off GTS but possibly hacked.

i got shiny snubbull, and mewtwo from a trade here on psypokes, and then a few hours later i got a shiny weepinbell.
i have nearly three hundred hours of game play, and finally get a shiny, the same day i traded for two.
three in one day.
i've played almost everyday since i got the game in JUNE!

My first shiny (that wasn't FOUND) was my shiny Latios I received from a trade. In Crystal however, I got Shiny Gyrados (duh) and I was aiming to breed a Chansey, but it was a shiny Chansey. =] Other than that, no shinies found which really bugs me.

My first? I started a new game on Sapphire. Use all my pokeballs in the forest, catching for the pokedex. One encounter later...*sparkle*. Damn golden silcoon, taunting me. :K

Second one, started Leaf Green. On the way back to Oaks Lab, with the Parcel...*sparkle*. OMG Gold pidgey! But it was to early, I didn't have my first pokeballs yet.

And, third time lucky. Same Leaf Green Save file, I catch a Green Sandshrew! :D
