My first (and only) shiny was a Wingull in Ruby which I found while EV training (looking for Tentacool/cruels). I was about to run when I noticed it had green wingtips.

I have never, ever, EVER, seen a shiny (excluding the Red Gyrados) My brother caught a Shiny Parason LG, though.

I can finally post in this thread because I hatched my very first legit shiny tonight (while I was at work, lol irony).

BUNEARY!

...not one of the "cool" shinies, but I liked my regular Buneary/Lopunny when I was raising him *and* this one has the right Ability for Cute Charm. My brain felt like it did a backflip when I realized what had hatched out of the Egg.

This is my first "real" Shiny, because everyone got the Red Gyara and my lil' sister just haxx0red me a Mew for my Crystal game (and I had her make it shiny because..well, it's already hacked, why not go all out?).

I'm still slightly giddy about this too, ^^o God I feel girly...

mine, aside from the obvious red gyarados, was a tentacruel in crystal. then i got ruby and found about.. 3 shiny oddish in the safari zone because i was there so much. i never caught any of them, i dont know why.

sapphire: roselia (deleted), currently resetting for kyogre
emerald: slugma now magcargo, while looking for shiny spinda :lol:
FR: ANOTHER oddish
Diamond: drifloon while resetting (10th try too :P ) currently breeding for charmander

so far 3-5, strange since sometimes i play the game with my eyes closed and just listen for the shiny chingle chime sound.

Quick QUESTION: for those who hatched a shiny from an egg, on the hatch screen, will the sprite be shiny or normal? and does it make the same shiny sound as if you found it wild? (when it goes "CHING!!" noise)

I don't know about the shiny noise, but I DO know that my Buneary's sprite was the shiny-colored sprite on the hatch screen. Haha, I spazzed as soon as I saw that too..

"Oh, one of my Bunearys. ...it has pink fur. IT HAS PINK FUR. OH MY GOD, I HATCHED A SHINY BUNEARY."

To be truthful, I was wondering that myself, since i wasn't paying any attention when I hatched my shiny numel.

Just caught one a few minutes ago east of Pastoria on Diamond. A shiny level 20 Shellos. I shall train it.

At first, I thought it was the evolved form of Shellos, because it was a different color and its ears were different and blue. When I saw the name "Shellos," I smiled, and used a level 26 Ponyta to weaken it, then catch it.

Are the odds of catching one on DP the same as on RSE?


Edit: Eh, I thought it was a shiny, but I think it's just an East Sinnoh Shellos. How disappointing.

Err, there's two different kinds of Shellos. Ignoring the shinies, there's the kind you find in Western Sinnoh, the normal pink ones, and the ones in Eastern Sinnoh, which are blue and have a different shaped head.

I ripped off my friend and traded it to him. He gave me an entire 6-man team.

The first shiny I found was a Grimer in Sapphire; I think I screwed up pretty badly in terms of EV training it (this was when I first learned about what an EV was), but I just like it for showing off anyway.
