Post subject:  Another help complete my team thing

I'm working on a team, and I would like some help with which pokemon should be which sweeper, and what my other pokemon should be.

Snorlax: (Ability: Thick Fat)
Rest
Earthquake
Snore
Giga Impact

Ludicolo: (Ability: Rain Dish)
Leech Seed
Toxic
Rain Dance
Surf

Camerupt: (Ability: Solid Rock)
Eruption
Earth Power
Yawn
Explosion

Weavile: (Ability: Pressure)
Night Slash
Ice Punch
Poison Jab
Dig

I would like a good fighting pokemon ((Edit: I'm using Togikiss)), and a pokemon that has a move like Lock-on, and a OHKO ((Edit: I'm using articuno)). Any suggestions??

Weavile should be a Physical Sweeper, you've mostly equipped it with Special Attacks.

Smeargle/Articuno...Smeargle has less defense but can Mean Look and Spore

and give Snorlax EQ over Hyper Beam

I've tried the Rest/Sleep Talk strategy before, and all I have to say is, STAY AWAY. Half the time the random selection Sleep Talk will make will be Rest, and therefore wasting a turn.

yeah I think Curselax works better (Curse over Sleep Talk)

Or just replace Sleep Talk with Snore instead. I believe Snorlax still has that as a level up move, so that combined with Snorlax's good attack would be great.
I'd think of something more useful than Hyper Beam...but I can't.

Yeah, Weavile needs Physical moves over Special. Instead of Dark Pulse, try Night Slash, Payback, of maybe Theif to steal items. I don't know of any physical Ice moves at the moment, but try those instead of Ice Beam and Blizzard. And try Swords Dance, too. :P

But yeah, on Snorlax, instead of Rest/Sleep Talk, try Stockpile/Swallow or Stockpile/Spit Up. The former helps with healing, and the latter can do damage (not on the high side though, I think). And if you have to have a Hyper Beam, try Giga Impact instead, therefore using Snorlax's attack over special attack.

Other than that, for a good fighter, try maybe Gallade, Hitmonchan/lee, Blaziken/Infernape (former for attack, latter for speed), and MAYBE Lucario for versatility and speed (but fragile). For the Lock-On/OHKO, the only one I can think of is Articuno with Mind Reader and Sheer Cold, but you can maybe try Alakazam with Focus Blast or Zap Cannon for damage near a OHKO. xD

Ice Punch.

The only way to get it on Weavile is to breed with a Smeargle that sketched it.

Wrong. I got ice-punching Sneasels via breed chain. I'm offering them for trade if you want one, btw.

Breed chain:

- Male Hitmonchan with Ice Punch + Female Buneary = Male Buneary with Ice Punch
- Male Buneary with Ice Punch + Female Sneasel = Sneasels with Ice Punch.

Thanks all, I'll try to make my team awesome

Also, Snorlax has Hyper Beam because I'm pretty sure you don't need to recover from it if it's used through sleep talk.

You'd probably want Giga Impact over Hyper Beam for Snorlax.

Snorlax: Lose both hyper beam and sleep talk. Do not give him snore, since both it and hyper beam are special attacks and snorlaxs' special attack stat is craparoo. Sleep talks' random nature is far too unreliable to make it of any use, half the time it will end up selecting either rest or sleeptalk itself, resulting in absolutely nothing.

Rest
bodyslam
crunch
bellydrum

Ludicolo: Get rid of surf and give him giga drain, this turns him into an effective drainer and can survive a great deal of punishment with rain dish, leech seed and giga drain.

toxic
leech seed
giga drain
raindance

Camerupt: Camerupts' special attack is higher than his attack and since we already have snorlax as a good physical damage dealer, lets turn Camerupt into a special sweeper.

Flamethrower
Earth power
Ancient power
Amnesia

Weavile: Weavile has uber attack power but an almost non-existant special attack, so Dark pulse, blizzard and ice beam are all gone. In fact, lets lose the nearly useless dig as well and start fresh.

Metal claw
swords dance
night slash
aerial ace/ ice punch

Only get ice punch if your willing to go through the whole breeding process, otherwise aerial ace works fine. Remember, a pokemon does'nt have to use attacks that match its' type to be effective.

Magnezone is the only pokemon except Articuno who naturally learns a lock-on/ OH-KO combo. However, Magnezone is weak to both fire and fighting. Weavile is also weak to both of these attacks and Snorlax bends over to fighting attacks as well, Magnezone is also weak to ground attacks, as is Camerupt. The result is that a pokemon with these three attack types(blaziken with earthquake, blaze kick and sky uppercut, for example) could take out your entire team.

Gallade is good fighting type for this team, having a resistance to fighting to balance out Weavile and snorlaxs' weakness to it.

Psycho cut
close combat
bulk up
leaf blade

Since the majority of these pokemon are all sweepers, it would be wise to incorporate some sort of tank or annoyer as your last pokemon, otherwise, when you come across an enemy that can't be beaten by sheer brute force, your out of luck.

What OHKO move does Magnezone have? According to the Psydex he doesn't have one.

Thanks for the ideas, but Snorlax wouldn't be able to do anything while sleeping. Unless... I get one of those waking up flutes from my Sapphire..! That could work, unless items can't be used in Competitive battling. I haven't done it yet :( because the only other person I know with P/D hasn't even done the league yet!! (He doesn't want to battle me) I just got the one month Journal thing come up this morning :D

EDIT: Damn day-care, keep getting rid of bunearys ice punch :(
EDIT: I just realised there is no one month Journal thing, it's just that I happened to not play for a day after one month of having that save!!
