Machamp@Iron Ball
No guard
(+ATK,-SPD nature) 252ATK, 100HP, 78DEF 78SPDEF
Fling
Dynamic punch
Thunderpunch/Ice punch/EQ
Ice punch/Fire blast
Trick room, Flinging machamp. Fling that iron ball and watch as those psychics that try to counter you become *splat*ed!!! Coming off 130 ATK stat with 130 base power and super effective should = RAEP!!! If you use fire blast, put 100EV's in SPATK, and split HP, DEF, SPDEF with HP getting around a third more.

Like That. Iron ball works well for a trick room team, and for weakening blows on a flying type Tank.Obviously, On pokemon Who want That type Gone, Like Vespiqueen, Who lose's a weakness to boltbeam, And lessens the strengh of rock type moves, In exchange For no leftovers recovery,Luckily she has an instant recovery Move, And loses an inmunity to ground Which She now resists, And gets Even Worse speed, Making her the fastest Poke in a trick room team, Ironicly.*
It's like gamefreak planned strats like these from the start of devolopment, With Abiltys,(Synchronize,
Poison Heal, Guts, quick feet, Klutz, Etc.)Moves(Trick Room, Payback, FLing, Recycle, etc) and Items,(Iron ball, Flame Orb, Lagging Tail,ETc.).
Ugh, So much typing. See Yea
*I am not responsible if I am wrong about Vespiquen,Ok?

If I went for the Iron Ball tactic I'd go for this kind of moveset;
Something@Iron Ball
Gyro Ball
Fling
Recycle
Switcheroo
maybe Lopunny with klutz but that can't learn recycle of gyro ball.

Dom, that is just a little weird. Really. *Knock off*
I personally think that for fling, I'd rather use one of the plates. 150 bp is just that little more then 130.
Macho Brace for Trick Room. No un-levitate effect at all.
And agility/gravity rather then giving away the iron ball with switcharoo.
None the less it is the only thing that can do all, so I have to give it credit.

Yet you are supporting (in your avie and your sig) one of the pokes that can gain great benefit from it. If dragonite loses it's fly type, it is only 2x effected by ice, instead of 4x. Add to this the fact that he doesn't know very many flying type attacks (so you don't have to worry about losing STAB) And i think you'll see that benefits can really outweigh the the draw backs of speed and susceptibility to ground attack. (esp if raised to have high def and spdef, instead of atk and spd) Plus, roost now has no drawback. Flinging it is stupid...you waste the ball (unless in on standard combat) and there are other moves that provide similar damage that can be used multiple times in one battle. (draco meteor, blizard, and thunder are all close, and can be taught to dragonite)
Blizzard even gives you the benefit of being able to take out other dragons (especialy ground/drags, and fly/drags that aren't holding the ball)

Most flying types will benifit from less weaknesses but the speed loss is terrible
And the only Flying type which is able to do Gyro Ball is Drifblim which is useless with Gyro Ball...
Using it with Trick/Switcheroo (Why making 2 iddentical moves?) may suck as well if your oppoment hold a choice item (Except for Klutz)
Don't count on Fling you can only use it once since you might be dead before being able too Recycle and 2 Crunches are better anyway
I think Iron Ball would work fine on Vespiquen
-Less Stealth Rock damage
-Less weaknesses (Ice, Electric and no more 4x Rock) Which are often used
-It doesn't need the speed anyway because the defenses are great already
-And you can use Heal Order instead of Roost so your oppoment won't notice you're holding it
It will look like this:
Vespiquen @ Iron Ball
Relaxed/Sassy
EV: 252 Def, 252 SPDef 6 HP?
Attack Order
Defend Order
Heal Order
Toxic
But... It it does mean you won't have a Leftovers T_T
This was it... So far

I dont know if anyone said this yet but HELLO PEOPLE the move TRICK ROOM!
Iron Ball slows you down, making you lose an immunity but you can go faster in Trick Room.
It might be a good idea to first check if the opponent HAD Trick Room.

I believe Trick Room has been mentioned but why making the whole battle depend on 1 move?

Trick room is obvious...the more direct approach is to use it on a poke that doesn't need speed. I know that there aren't very many defensive flyers, but if you give it to a poke that already has a strong type, and avoid giving it any speed ev's, you won't notice the change in speed (if your already slower than the competition, then the speed decrease has no effect)
So then all your left with is the loss of fly type, which as i stated a couple of post ago, isn't a problem if you choose the right poke. (the two quickest to mind are flying bugs (resistant to ground, and weak against rock) and flying dragons.
If the iron ball really bothers any of you that much, feed it to munchies, and he'll be full for a bit.

^^^I'm tired of seeing this post over and over in this topic...
The point of this topic is to discuss creative strategies for using the iron ball... if you read through the rest of the topic, you will see that there are some.
Also, if you had read through the topic, you would have seen that the fling suggestion has already been mentioned, time and time again, and that your statement was not only not needed, but also much less imaginative than other fling post.
For those that didn't catch it in previous post:
The iron ball can be (like all items) flung for damage, or sold for money, it's just a little better at it than most. As it has been pointed out above though, the iron ball is not replaceable (w/o recycle) whereas plates (which can be found underground) can be, also, plates do slightly more damage, and don't slow down the holder.
Though some may disagree, i think the strength of the ball is not in slowing down users of gyro ball (try pairing with hammer arm @ zoom lens instead) but rather in removing fly type from those that it creates double weaknesses in (Such as bug (rock), Dragon (ice) or water (electricity)) If you disagree, lets battle to find out how it is more useful.

if your going to revive a dead topic, please make sure you have something new to say.
Ah, didn't notice this, thanks.
Although I think the mods would like you to just use the report feature next time, I'm not sure if you did or not, since I can't see reports. :/ -Sparrow
