It probably means it gives a second "STAB"-like boost to normal-type moves, or any other type depending on if you used one of the Conversion moves.
That's my guess.
EDIT: my B, looks like I was off a bit.

It increases the power of attacks that are the same type as the pokemon using it.
I'm not too sure how much of an increase it is though, I heard somewhere that it is either 1.3 or 1.5 times but that is not confirmed.

Probably 1.5, since that's the number for STAB and 1.3 is kind of a random number.
So... Porygon-Z with Hyper Beam...
BP = 150 x STAB = 225 x 1.5 Adaptability = 358
That's only in theory though, don't completely rely on that...

Yeah I kind of gathered it would be 1.5 those are just the 2 numbers I heard and because it doesn't actually say anywhere that Adaptability is an extra STAB (that's just what people assume) then it could be another amount but until someone confirms it 1.5 would be the most accurate assumption.

It's not a great ability on Normal-types, Normal-type attacks aren't super-effective against anything.

I think that it will be like this:
STAB+1.5 Adaptability=2
150 x 2 = 300
it used to be so[/quote]

it is a good ability when battling purely for fun and using conversion to switch type when you have some good attacks to choose from and Porygon-Z has both Thunderbolt and Ice Beam to choose from.

Why would it only double? STAB is generally accepted as a 1.5 boost, so assuming Adaptability is the same, that would be x2.25.

That's exactly why they need the power boost. Not only that but porygon learns conversion 1 and 2, allowing it to alter its' type, making Adaptability more useful.
