I CAN'T CATCH RAYQUAZA AND ITS MAKIN' MEH ANGRY!!!!! I've been playing my Ruby quite a lot lately and after I had beaten the Elite Four, I went to Sky Pillar after cashing out on Ultra Balls (I had stupidly used my Master on ) and here was my team

I got Rayquaza to almost no health with Sceptile (it had Dragon Claw ) I chucked a ton of Ultras at it, but it wouldn't work. So after a few hundred attempts, MasterGameBoy lent me Ash which was at level 71. I went to the Elite Four again and leveled up my Pokemon and bought more Ultra Balls and a couple of Timer Balls. Here was the improved team

lol. Try getting it to go to sleep or paralyze it. Then bring it's HP down to the red point. Now begin throwing ultra balls at it. Too bad you used your Master Ball. I personally use Premier Balls for all legendaries. I find them more effective and they work most of the time with very stong pokemon, but thats my opinion.

The only thing with that is that...well...I never really teach my Pokemon status conditions. The uses Rest a lot, but it almost always woke up before I threw a ball at it...

On another note, I had caught with a nest ball on Emerald

And I caught him with a Premier Ball, and Latias with a Nest Ball. (Weird, good luck.)
My thoughts: If you have a Pokemon that gets him to the red in 1 shot, go for it. (lvl 54 Kyogre with Ice Beam is what I used.) Other than that bring 40+ Balls of each type and go crazy.

I don't have one, but I'd definitely try to hit it with a status condition. Maybe you could try to burn it? If nothing else get a temporary Pokemon with hypnosis or something.

I have 40 Ultras and 2 Timers Gec knows Dragon Claw so he can get it down in 1-2 hits

On topic, My Ash should be able to get him down... if you have to and you have the TM, teach it Dragon Claw... That should get it down quick.

well I wastde my like 60 ultra balls and i ended up wasting my masterball on it. darn raquaza

may i suggest the pokeball trick? my friend caught a moltres on LG with a pokeball using the trick.

and remember if you dont know how to do it
1.throw a pokeball and hold A,B and SELECT
2.right when the pokeball opens, let go of B and hold the whole round
3(note). if it does not work try to bring the hitpoints down a little.

Where is the ice type? Switch out hariyama.

Also, do you have a parasect? or maybe a smergle/brellom? Spore is good.

did i mention i caught Rayquaza with a regular pokeball with no pokeball tricks or AR codes?

if youre having trouble surviving rayquazas attacks then i suggest shedinja. teach it protect so it can protect if rayquaza uses fly (it takes two turns so you dont have to rely on guess work). or you could use an aggron - it resists outrage and it has double resistance to hyperbeam and fly. if ray uses outrage you could switch to shedinja so it doesnt get confused. someone mentioned this idea once before too: get a hypno (if you dont have FR/LG maybe majorgameboy could lend you one) and teach it skill swap (TM48). then use skill swap on the rayquaza - now rayquazas ability will be insomnia, so it wont be able to use rest! then switch to shedinja. if you delay the evolution of your nincada to level 25 your shedinja can use false swipe to get rayquaza to 1hp. then you could paralise it. should be a lot easier to catch then!!! or if you have emerald, you could clone some masterballs....

If you really wan't to catch it. week the pokemon and use a lot of timerballs. but of course if it will use rest s must keep trying . catching legendaries are not easy I know

Well I'm sorry MajorGameBoy, I had a kinda stupid moment there....

I CAUGHT RAYQUAZA!!! WOOOOSH!!

MajorGameBoy has a hacked up FireRed with unlimited stuff, so since he doesn't care about what happens to the save file now (he already traded off his good Pokemon) he gave me some Pokemon with a Master Ball attached to two of them. So I finally caught the annoying Rayquaza and now I have Ho-Oh, Lugia, and Deoxys (Pokemon he traded me. He also traded the last three good Pokemon of his to me so I could transfer them to his Emerald) and no hacks have touched my precious Ruby. So I'm happy

i caught my rayquaza with a master, and groudon and kyogre with ultra balls(took me forever to catch kyogre and i caught groudon with second ball

i caught mine with one pokeball without doing anything....i know, you dont believe me....lolz

i successfully caught Ho-oh and lugia on my game with pokeballs. With no AR too!
(it kept freezing my game with the ar so i did it the hard way.)
BTW, I just cloned a bunch of pokes for you, including Ash, Samuel(Kyogre) and Pinkity.

Thank you MajorGameBoy! Squeeeeeeeee!!!!! SUGAR RUSH!!!! Ahem... yeah... I've got Rayquaza now, so I've taken a brake from Hoenn and went back to Johto. Ah, Johto, how wonderful it is... started a new game yesterday and I've already got 6 badges

why don't you just trade a master ball from another pokemon game and then clone the pokemon and use the ball

because I didn't have another Master Ball, duh...that and I can't find my FireRed or Emerald
