I think of myself as to being old fashion. I either don't do anything at all and get mad if the ball doesn't catch, or I RAPIDLY! press A til it either pops out or catchs. Some of you are creative with your "Up+A til this and then do down+B" type stuff, how do you come up with that kind of thing? |

^I dunno how people came up with the random combo.s of button-mashing, but back in the days of R/B/Y, I'd just press and hold the "A" button as hard as I could when I was trying to catch Articuno.  Nevermind my not knowing that doing so could mess up my Game Boy Pocket. :roll:

As for myself, when the trainer throws it, I leave my DS and run to the toilet. I usually have to go to the toilet anyway, so catching pokes gives me a toilet break I actually manage to make it before it snaps close.
When I mustn't go, I just hit A as a madman. Thumb excercise. |

i throw the ball and yel "CMON!!!! GET IN THEAREE!!!!"and if it breaks out i throw pillows and stuff at people.....like when i was fihgitng giratina and he broke out after the 3rd shake i grabbed a pillow and damned near took my brothers head off.....very agressive player i must say |

Pokemon is all data and databases. The game uses algorithms to decide the probability of a Pokemon breaking out of a ball versus the probability of it being caught successfully, depending on several variables such as the target's "capture rate" (a hidden number assigned to each Pokemon that determines its catching difficulty) and the remaining HP of the target, plus what kind of status conditions it's retaining, and lastly, what kind of balls are used. All the rest is down to the roll of the die, so to speak. It took me like 20 Dusk Balls to catch Azelf and only TWO to catch Uxie. This kind of stuff bugs me to see people say "I press the A button and it WORKS!" Dude, you just got lucky. Anyone ever catch Abra with a normal Pokeball and without weakening it first? I have. It's all luck; you have a small chance of it working and a large chance of it not working, and it just so happened that you scored with the odds against you. It's not because you pressed the A button at the right time or held the Up button or looked at the screen from a certain angle. Don't go there. Forgive my flippantness; my intent isn't to offend anyone, but I do have strong opinions on this subject so it comes off a little harsh to some of you. Just so we're all on the same level. =) ok you can say this but the reason "glitches" or "bugs" work is because of the fact that all it is is technology and knowing this, if you understand anything about video games and or computers, you would know that it is easy to find errors in the encryption and exploit it so by saying its impossible and rant and rave about it like you did really shows that you know nothing about the way glitches work. not trying to be mean or anything., but learn everything there is about something before you make a comment like that. |

I always hold b, except for dialga I had to go to the bathroom so as soon as i started, i through 1 great ball at it without hurting it. When I got back from the bathroom it was caught lol.... |

I usually hold a as hard as I can (pretty scary though since it feels like it can damage my system) it gives me a kind of a high or something LOL! I know it doesn't work, but it makes me feel a little less nervous when having to catch stuff especially since I tried it for the first time on Lugia back in gold with a pokeball and it worked xD |

i always tap and hold the center of the pokeball on the lower screen and push it to the left on the first wiggle and push it to the right on the next wiggle ect |

I hold down b even though it dosen't work, what matters the most in my experiance is getting the pokemon you are trying to catch down to literly one hp. This is very important against the legendaries because I have tried getting them down to about two hp and sleeping them and throwing 50 ultra balls and it didien't work, it only worked when I got a weak pokemon out there and made it one hp; after that it got caught on the secound or third ball. to above post: you do what?
