I just restarted my pearl version because i was tired of my old team, so I decided I try out Piplup for a starter already having torterra and infernape and got a shiny, female piplup. I nearly crapped. so after i was done with the first battle I checked its stats, it had good stats too. I think it has nearly max IV's

Atk = 10
Defense = 14
Sp. Atk = 12
Sp. Def = 13
Speed = 11

and it's gonna be a defensive tank, it has a Bold nature (-atk. +Def) and Strongly Defiant person. (raises Sp. Def). this has to be the best starter i've ever seen in my life haha what the hack are those odds. And on the stats thing for Empoleon it says he has good Spc Atk so hes gonna be my tank no doubt. i wish i could EV train it better....

Considering the max number you can get in any 1 IV is 31, those aren't really close to max.

= p hahahahaha i had no idea, still i've never seen one much higher tahn that, but the fact that its SHINy and FEMALE make up for that np.

wow... the luckiest things that happened to me are that i got a female heatran and a female riolu.

He was just naming the things stats, not IVs.

Yeah, the stats will not be equal to the DV's at level five, else lucky number rolls would result in simplistic early domination. It's best to calculate them when the pokemon is at level 100.

i know, i was like half asleep and saw these weird balls float around it and im like wtf. so i looked at it and it was lighter and then i saw its female sign. So i was resetting trying to get good IVs, but after seeing that i was like doh gonna keep it. The first chance I got to look at its base stats a lvl 5 i nearly died with a smile on my face, it is no doubt the strongest starter ive ever had. I had torterra and infernape and i remembered them having at least 2 9's in there so ye im happy. i was thinking about sending it to my diamond for propper EV training because this one has potential.

You should because that in my opinion will shock people they will be like it is shiny it won't be that good then bam they just get own you know that was kinda in my head at the time well I think I should get to bed it is like almost 3 Am in my zone so peace

Initial reaction to this post: please, shineys are rarely any good stat-wise. Let's just put these stats into an IV calculator out of curiosity (except HP, since you didn't say)...

Those aren't the best IVs I've seen on a starter. Those are nearly the best IVs I've seen on any pokemon, ever.

I doubt any of my pokemon come close to that (Celebi or Piplup...).

Shiny. AND Female. *twitch*. Lucky stiff. I wish I had a shiny starter with that good EV's

also as far as ev training it better goes you can always redo its evs when you beat the elite 4 or whenever you want by using the berries that reduce evs and give happiness. So you can still use it in your competitive team.

Ha, you should have seen me when I caught my Shiny Golbat (now Crobat) and shiny Ghastly (now Gengar). I was looking for them anyway and they popped up randomly. Life is sweet. Not to mention I just traded for a legit/untouched shiny Jap Dialga Still at level 47 and found at Spear Pillar. Neat like meat
