Ok, now i'm a bit annoyed at the way the advance generation of games have cut us off from previous versions and after doing some research on how to come by some of the pokemon in silver/gold im disappointed that it seems in order to get Lugia and Ho-Oh you need a ticket from an nintendo event. Am I understanding this correctly?

If this is the case could i use an action replay code thing to obtain this ticket and then get a genuine Lugia? Or would this just give me a cheat Lugia? I generally frown upon using the action replay to get pokemon but i dont see how else its going to be possible for me to "catch em all". Bear in mind i dont plan on using it for my team because i dont train the legendary pokemon, i think theres little skill involved in raising them, so i just dont want it to **** up my game.

I'm not sure about a code for the ticket, but you could always use a warp code to get to the island, therefore making them genuine Pokes.

Ah ok. Would that work for Mew as well? What is the chance that using a warp code would mess up my game?

Yes, it would work for Mew... but only in Emerald.

I don't know the chances of it messing up your game. I've been warped into rocks where I couldn't move and I just turned the game off/on and everything was fine and dandy.

A safer alternative would be to wait until yu obtain Pokemon Diamond or Pearl and trade something for it over the internet. Minimal chance of ruining your game that way, but leaves your piggy bank empty. Weigh up the pros and cons.

Yes, i did consider that and i am hoping that Pearl turns up in the post tomorrow in fact. But i'm not sure i would have anything worth trading for? Besides, i have a version of ruby and a version of emereld and i can use the cheat cartridge to give myself some more master balls or something.

YOu could always buy XD and Colloseum, they each have the birds, thats how I got mine...
