Post subject:  Pet Peeves!
As much as I love Diamond and Pearl, there are some small, minor things that annoy me.

A) How come we can only have 7 letters for our trainer's name? I can't use my normal Valcarde name because of it! >_<
B) Some of the older pokémon cries sound like they were just ripped right out of the older games and imported in.
C) There's options to turn off battle graphics (to make EV Training not take so long), why can't we turn off the 'Into Battle' graphics? Such as the tossing of the pokéball, listening to the cries of each pokémon, or turning off the opening animation?

So what are your pet peeves?

i dont like the new graphics. the ds can do waay better than this. it looks very similar to the gba versions, but now with that pseudo-3d crap. comon, either go all the way, or dont go 3d at all. it looks so tacky.

The cries definitely. Some of them sound that they were screamed into, then reworked and finally became Prinplup's cry. They are really terrible. Boo for that! =[.
That is my pet peeve.

Slower damage calculation, come on, a Blissey takes 25 secondes to kill it even with close combat!

And that's different from the other games how...? On the japanese games, you can only use 5 characters/letters. ;)

Besides the slooooooooooow battle system, I like the game. I miss the battle frontier though...and I wish you had the match call thing like in Emerald so you can re-battle gym leaders. Oh...and I don't like the gym leaders in this game. The last one is cool except for his emo-ness.

I love the cries, the graphics don't bother me, and this generation's pokemon are MUCH better than the last generations.

It's been the same all the Pokémon games, yes.
And it annoys me with each and every one.

Not enough to stop playing, obviously, but it's a minor thing.
Hence why it's a 'pet peeve' and not a 'massive annoyance'.

the fact that we can only transfer 6 a day per gba pak to pal park. i have well over 300 that i need to transfer, and the no hm thing is even worse.

I'm frustrated that my poke radar refuse to be used.

I used it once to test caught a starly, ran a over 50 paces, and it refuses to activate again.

I'm probably just stupid though.

The ability to rename the trainer. I mean, what if I want to suddenly be called "Music"? I'd have to reset all my game data, with the elites beaten and all those GTS/Wi-Fi trades? Also, ever notice how a Ryhorn and a Charizard have the same cry? Well...I'd rather have the digital old sounding rather than "Pika Pika!!!" that they use on the show....that's just nonsense.

Well I agree with Krisp all the way. Sure it gets slower, but the cartridge is smaller, the graphics are better, etc. That's a fair trade.

And I can explain the 7-character limit:
It has to do with the binary system. Your name actually has 8 values, with the 8th showing where your name ends. That's why. (It must be similar to the 10-character nickname limit...)

yes, there are so many stupid rules for the pal park. i cant think of any real reason for why they made it the way they did. everything about it is just annoying.

I always use the name DRAKE for my games pretty much so the charecter size for names doesnt bother me.

The games good except for the turtle like battle speed..
I also love how they added the GTS for the Wi-Fi. I Got a friken lvl 100 lucario for a lvl 70 mewtwo because of it!
Pal park is good to but it takes way to long to encounter pokemon..

Um... all pokemon are based on animals, fish, humans, mithical creatures, plants, etc.
My biggest pet peeve would have to be that the frame rate is a bit slow, and that Dialga's cry doesn't even sound like a legendary! Now, the biggest one of them all is that to trade for pokemon in the global trading center you have to see the pokemon, so trading for a nintendo event is imposible unless you've somehow seen it before.

I have a few

-Giratinis name (maybe I'm pronouncing it wrong or somthing, but jeer-u-teen-ee doesnt sound evil) I nicknamed him Renegade, how original.

-the fact that the people who need my cloned legit jirachi most wont be able to get it unless theve seen it. but I have the solution, the battle tower! If we could somehow find out how to get event pokemon on there

Or we could get thier friendcode and have them battle us with it.

-that honeytree crap. Its a great idea, but I dont want to wait 12 hours to be dissapointed in a not-munchlax/not-male-combee

-Ill think of somthing else to complain about. Maybe the fact that teaming up with a computer generated team mate might be cool, but you cant surf/fly/leave/fight Heatran/do anything.

-Heres one, the lack of fire types. theres Heatran, ponyta, chimchar/monferno/infernape, and magmortor(thats bieng generous considering you have to have leafgreen in to obtain him.)

-and finally, the whole manaphy mess. Manaphy should hatch into phioneand evolve or not have some freakish prevo that can't evolve (by freakish I mean can't evolve. oh the redundancy.)

I have tons. One that you have to see all 150 pokemon to get the national dex. The fact that you can't rename yourself. This is the first pokemon evil team with cheapy music.(team rocket's was bad but everything about them is) Of course those stupid pal park rules and lastly that you have to wait a really long time before you get your first pokeball. I was so worried that a shiny starly was going to appear and i wouldn't be able to catch it.

I came up with more. :o

Pokemon events, nuff said

and the inability to nickname traded pokemon(like my brand new lvl 100 lucario I got in a trade named F***. wonderful.)

That old man is mental. I swear, I bring him my lucario he says "Thats a pretty good name, but it could be better"

I give him a traded lucario (no nickname) Thats a perfect nickname, dont change it!"

I bring him F***

"I couldnt think of a better name myself."

Later on the news..."Now its time for pokemon ratings! Today, Alkazors Lucario named F***! I like the use of the letters F and U! Good job Alklazor, keep up the good work!"

MENTAL!

Another note to kids: Dont curse. or nickname your pokemon anything innapropriate. Its bad. Ok. Nuff said.

lol Alkhazor, they really got ya good with that one, i think im gonna die laghing over that one, and nicknames should be blocked over gts or atleast they should screen for languidge(sp?) incase it was going to a little kid, pluse they get annoying( i got a cherubi from japan and i dont even know what its nickname is)
