That would be Mosdeep City. I always thought you could find an Everstone there but you can't.

if i recall that Rock is used in the Japanese version of the game to catch yourself a {deoxys} assuming you had a Solrock/Lunatone at the front of your party and a Lunatone/Solrock at the end of your party(me forgot)
much like the puzzle to get yourself the Regis

Unless you give me proof, I don't believe that. I don't believe you can get Jirachi in the Japanese version either, since nobody has proved that to me either.

As for the rock, I think it's just there for decoration, and has no true purpose.

But there must be some sort of signifigance...because whenever you go up to a tree, it doesn't say "It's a tree." Then again, it could be those useless messages that say "These are blueprints, but they are too hard to read." So you could be right. It's an interesting thing to ponder.

Its a meteor that fell near the space institute. Presumably, what the Sun Stone came in/with.

The White Rock is probably just another doodad which is interesting to look at and all, but has no real significance to the game.

maybe it triggers an event only on Japanese games or after you've been to a Nintendo Event

I specifically remember once "clicking" it, and I just got some sort of semi-expensive item, such as stardust. However, I doubt there's any way at all you can get Deoxys, even in Japanese versions, outside of special events. I don't get why it's the low ranked Psypoke members that always come up/believe that stuff. Just because they're low ranked on the forums doesn't always mean they're new to the game, but often it seems so... However now I'm rambling so I might as wel wrap it u- WAIT A SECOND! I do remember something about the Japanese Emerald version having to do with the 500th space launch in the game, and giving you access to Jirachi. I never saw any proof, yet I'd like if someone could say their opinion, however off-topic of the actual idea. Then again, Jirachi may be another theory about that rock, so there's a loophole to go off topic, however it is one I myself am not currently using, so I'd rather be quiet now. Yet again, CHJB the rambler jumps on a train to- okay, I'm gonna shut up now!

From my "Stupid Insults" thread, where people tell eachother how people insulted them in a hilariously stupid manner, how ironic!

I doubt you can get deoxys in the japanese verson. It's just a stupid white rock that they put there for decoration.

I also remember picking up like a stardust or some evolution stone or something from that rock once. However, this hasn't occurred every time that I've played through the game. All myths aside, I suppose that it's just a space with a chance to receive an item.

I'm pretty sure I found a wish tag on it, or maybe someone just gave it to me near there. It was a few years ago and I've forgotten.
