Technician-Powers up the pokemon's weaker moves

I found this on my scizor recently, but i'm sort of confused. What does it mean by weaker moves exactly?

No one really seems to know what 'weaker' is exactly. I'm sure someone will pull apart the game code and figure it out exactly someday...

Technician, like was said, boosts moves with 60 BP or less by 1.5 I believe it comes into play before STAB, as well.

This means that, for example, a Technician Scyther with Aerial ace will get 60 BP x1.5 x1.5 for a grand total of I believe 135 BP.

no, a dual type will gain the same STAB as a monotype, so your, say, Hitmonlee will get the same STAB from High Jump Kick as a Medicham would. However, a dual type has 2 STAB types, in the case of Medicham, fighting as well as Psychic.

Sounds weird, but it was widely accepted as a fact for a long time.

It was like that in the red/blue days, and normal didn't get STAB either.

Unfortunately, the only pokemon that can HAVE Technician are: Meowth, Persian, Scyther, Scizor, Smeargle, Hitmontop, and Ambipom--not a good assortment. Only a few of those are good for long-term teams, but the best bets are Hitmontop and Scizor.

Wait...I thought Technician was an item? Is it a move? *is slightly conufsed*

Also piping up in defense on Persians. They ARE good to have on your team (atleast if the one my little sister had is anything to go by - I lost more times to that blasted cat)...
