i put semi-hardcore because i pretty-much like all my pokemon the same level until it falls apart... like one pokemon is just WAAAY to strong for the others in my team, for example, most of team are betwwen levels 84-86 but my espeon is level 97 - i've taken it out of my team and swapped it for level 81 but i just dont get very far in pkmn league anymore!?!?!?!

EDIT: but i spose if i train mst of my pokemon in my box, dus that make me hardcore???

I used to be semi-impatient, but now I am hard core

Hardcore. When I'm determined I go for it. I've spent whole night on some. And it sucks when they've only grown just under your expectations. However in the end, it pays off. I find as soon as you get the VS Seeker, use it toward your advantage.

I now level my fave team of pokes to 60 before beating the E4, using one team for eVeRyThInG. 8) I always select 6 from the beginning of the game ({butterfree}, {primeape}, {pidgeot}, {raticate}, {blastoise}, {raichu}). I'm also going to kick my Raticate out for {dewgong} because my Raticate has pitiful sp attack.

semi-hardcore Usually work on one poke at a time or one exp. and another ev. training at the same time.

ive taken to leveling one or two of my pokemon to lv.100 then giving the others exp.share and going to the elite four over and over again. i find it works faster with the pokemon i only need for moves for breeding purposes :P

As far as the poll is concerned, I put semi-hardcore, because it seems to be the "average" of my actual approaches.

My first time through Red, I was "impatient", leveling up my Starter way beyond the rest of the team, and even managed to completely sweep the E4 (and Gary) with it. The second time (after I had to replace a cartridge), I was slightly more balanced, but still rode my Blastoise to a high level and success. [Of course, that game has 151 Pokes in the Dex as well...]

My brother would catch Pokemon at free will in Blue version, but when he gave it to me, I trimmed the fat, got him up to 151, and had three Lv. 100s that I swept the E4 with (and traded in my Pokemon from Red and had Exp. All [which sucks when it still gives experience to Lv. 100s] to evolve them) dozens of times. The others were generally Lv. 25 or 30, depending on where he caught them.

Yellow is a pain because I've started so many times. Originally, my brother owned it, and that meant a ton of Pokemon caught, even doubles (which I couldn't stand for some reason). Traded all of the juggernauts out (for trade fodder ), and started over to try and get Dex completion in the other two. But then my brother's friend wanted to play, started a new game, which I continued for him. Finally, when I didn't get what I needed, I started over again. This time, it's entirely my playthrough (although under the name my brother's friend had given the character), and I'm being almost ridiculously "hardcore" about it, not even advancing in the game until all of my Pokes are at the exact same level. Consequently, I'm at about 50 hours played, with only 2 badges.

GSC all have timed out, but they had somewhat similar approaches to my second Red run, with a high Starter, mediocre supporting cast, and horrible untrained Pokes waiting to evolve (and then probably be ditched).

RSE much the same way, but I have not put as much time or effort into those, but lately Emerald has been back on my playlist and I'm finding Pokes I like using.

Of the fourth gen, I only have Pearl, and I'm being much more equitable about levels ("semi-hardcore"). Diamond and Platinum (as well as the other games I don't have) on my buy list in the near future, if I can swing the money.

FR I have not started, but LG I'm being much more equitable, to the point where I'm stuck in the plot because I want my Pokes to all be 30 or higher. (Also on my current playlist)

So after considering all of my playthroughs, I'm kind of in the middle. I'm much more equitable than I used to be, which as a Trainer, is a much smarter move, but I think that came with research and experience as opposed to the impetuosity of my youth.

My two cents.

AEPMT  ;) 8-)

Hardcore at the very beginning and end of the game, flat out impatient at the end. Before the first gym every pokemon is at it's second evolution, as long as it's around level 18. At the end, at the E4, every Pokemon is trained to about at least level 80. Everywhere else I just train enough to scrape by quickly.

I usuallly train my Pokemon very hard. I got plenty of lvl100 Pokemon.

My method for leveling involves taking one Pokemon at a time and throwing them at the next gym leader until it's strong enough to beat them by itself.
