me picked chikorita because i was always going to pick grasses

The first time I played Gold, I picked Chikorita too, since I picked Bulbasaur on Red and I thought Chikorita was gonna be as cool. Plus, I really liked the grass type. But then I realised Cyndaquill was the best choise for me.

if i wanted to pick the starter type wise i would pick as there aint much fire out there. If I wanted strongnes i would pick so it could later turn into a but i wanted nicest looking i would go for a to evolve it into a . but for this i picked ..

When I restarted my Silver Version, I saved my old game save onto this product called the Brain Boy, a Pokemon Editor for Pokemon Gold and Silver. Just for fun, I saved my game after obtaining my starter, and edited it into an Eevee. XP Played normally after that, without editing. It was quite interesting, especially after it evolved with Happiness.
