when i was trying to get mew in my blue version (it failed) i was walking out of lavender town to get to celadon when it showed "I like nidoran so i collect them and all of a sudden i get attacked by a level 7 staryu. is that possible

Yes. All that means is that there is a trainer on that route who says that same thing when you battle him, and the Mew trick obviously went wierd somehow because obviously if everything went according to plan, you would've been jumped by a level 7 Mew.
If you saved before you attempted the Mew trick, you should be able to just try it again. Good luck!  |

Since you got a Staryu instead, you must have fought the wrong trainer. Did you fight the kid with a Slowpoke lvl 17 on Route 25?

That is wierd. xD Though I'm not surprised. There were a lot of wierd rby glitches.
