I got the information via http://en.wikipedia.org about episodes AG116 and 117 are skipped in the USA, but surprisingly aired in the UK!
Does anyone have further informations?
Are there any other countries with English as official language, that has aired these episodes apart from UK?
How did USA edit the next episodes in order to cover up the May having the last ribbon?
Why did they ban or skip the episode?

Just because its banned in America, doesn't mean its banned in other countries. They've banned Jynx because of the "African American stereotype" thing. I don't think that site should have said "English speaking" countries, because I'm not sure if its banned in ALL english speaking countries.

I am asking is because I am familiar that the Jynx in that episode is PURPLE.
I am not asking because I didn't know the Carole Boston Weatherford incidence.
Seriously, I even write up the CBW page for wikipedia.
I am asking why the skip the episode when it is politically correct.
But thanks for the BitTorrent though
Although my concern is not to watch the episode this stage, I already know what went on in the episode a year ago.

The reports were that because Jynx was in them.
But I confirm that in these 2 episodes, Jynx is purple, so that it MUST BE POLITICALLY CORRECT.
We are trying to investigate why USA did not show it.(UK did)

I hate politically correct. Good thing I got to see those episodes (the English dubs from UK)...
But then again there are people that can't take light of a politically incorrect situation. The comic troubles over there East of the Atlantic, for example.

Jynx is politically correct for the USA, but it is just not used there as people still do not approve of the pokemon because of the time when it wasn't purple, that's from what i can gather

I didn't see anything offensive about Jynx. In fact, with all the humanshape pokemon I see nothing offensive in any of them. It's (yes "it's" not "its" get it right people!) only when someone looks for a way to be offended do we see politicaly incorrect problems.

So, you mean, USA banned these 2 episodes is because it might remind people of the old design?
Oh I see.
Would you mind stating the source your heard this from?

Doesn't matter.
I think it is very likely that your opinion is true.

What doesn't matter
Anyway i think my opinion is right to, I mean if you think a pokemon is directed for Racial Hatred towards you your not going to forget it or forgive Nintendo even if they have changed the colour, It doesn't change the fact that it was once Black and it Offended many people

i have to side with blastermaster55 on this one, i didn't seem to find anything racial whatsoever about jynx and i have an african american background on my dads side. i mean just because a human shape pokemon has a darker skin colour than the other human shapes doesnt mean it was intended to be a racial stereo type. i fail to see the problem with it anyway. was it found to be a racial stereo type of african american women or something? that's the only possible reason i can think of

Jynx was made to poke fun at a group of Japanese youth that had a look of very very very dark skin and very very very light hair. There were like some kind of school cliche that became a trendy thing to do. THAT is where the idea for Jynx came from.
Political Correctness is just a form of controlling freedom of speech.

They are called Ganguro which is an ill thing...bleaching their hair, regular sun baths....wanting to archieve real black skin.
Think of all the Ultra violet they receive and their increase rate of getting skin cancer...
That's why the Japanese fit in Jynx for as much Pokemon products as they could! Back in 1996~1997, nearly all Pokemon note books, pencil cases...etc have Jynx on them!

Re Mutant Mewtwo:
I actually did E-mail Carole Boston Weatherford about her opinions on Jynx.
She replied as long as it is not black it is ok.
However no one believed in this E-mail because E-mails aren't "really reliable". Especially places lik wikipedia and lolstop
The E-mail is in my website.

This original design bore a striking, but possibly coincidental, resemblance to entertainers in blackface. A strong case can be made for Jynx being a parody of or homage to the Japanese Ganguro and Yamanba fashion trends, which were extremely popular when Pok

There's a difference in the appearance between Jynx and the Ganguro fashion trend of the mid-1990's... try doing a Google Image Search and you can clearly tell the difference between the two. Ganguro girls don't have completely black faces and they lack the similarities Jynx had with blackface cartoons, which were racially offensive. Blackface characters had jet-black skin and rather large lips... oh, what about Jynxie's appearance was modified after Mrs. Weatherford's complaints? Her black skin was recolored purple, and her lips were resized.
Jynx's original design. | Some examples of Ganguro girls. | Some examples of blackface.
Hmm... which one does the original Jynx design more obviously resemble?
Was Jynx intentionally made to look like blackface? A good question, but either way, it offended Mrs. Weatherford, and she responded. I think the episodes will eventually air; they've been dubbed, haved aired on British TV, and Kids WB have paid to get the rights to the episodes. There's also a giant plot hole in the American dub's plot now, because May never wins her last Contest. Kids WB will just be acting stupid and wasting their money if they leave the episodes unaired. I'm not African American, and I thought Mrs. Weatherford was having a bad drug trip when I originally read her article, but she makes valid points in comparing Jynx/Mr. Popo to blackface.

The ultimate aim of Ganguro is to archieve real black face.
PS: I am not saying that Ganguro is the origin of Jynx. But it is possible that it is ONE OF THE many origins flying around.
But the ultimate problem is, Weatherford had told me that "I hardly care about Pokemon now." meaning she will not be dealing with Pokemon anymore, therefore, will NOT write a letter to 4kids or anything like that.
Besides, big companies wouldn't trust an E-mail by an unknown person with Weatherford.
So, no one will get Jynx unbanned. Unless, when Pokemon is handed over to Pokemon USA from 4kids, and that IF Pokemon USA decide to unban it.

From what I heard, the change was because a mother caught a glimps of Jynx and was ****ed off about it, and she was white. wtf?
It's okay, I don't like Jynx anyway, but it looks worse purple

Jynx is'nt the only pokemon that has caused controversy.
For a while, Kadabra was being targeted as a slanderous image.
In the 1970's there was a powerful psychic called Uri Geller, one of his tricks was bending spoons with his mind, which is why Kadabra and Alakazam are always holding them. Also the star on Kadabras' forehead was given the no-no as it was a symbol that Uri was often associated with, some people believing his powers came from outer-space.
Uris' relatives were so annoyed at this and considered it so offensive, that Kadabra(and his evolutions) were almost axed completely, and would never agian see the light of day. Fortunately(for us) the court case fell through and Nintendo emerged triumphant with it's statement that Kadabra was in fact a tribute to Uri and not intended to be an insult.
This is, at least, the information I got from another source, one which I can no longer remember.
The porygon episode was banned because it caused children in Japan to have epilectic fits. Porygon2 has never made an appearance because of the original Porygon incident, Nintendo is not going to risk more problems by putting out yet another controversial pokemon, it's no great loss to me though, I personally think Porygon2 is stupid.

600 something actually. Congradulations Nintendo, you got into the Guiness Book of World Records for most Seizures in one country at the same time.
And also, people take things way to seriously. Should be happy to have a Pokemon made after you...
