there is an error in the damage calculator
when you use thunder and the secondary pokemon is under the effect of fly it says: "This attack deals regular damage when your opponent is under the effects of Fly"
when it should say something like:
"This attack deals double the damage when your opponent is under the effects of Fly"

I don't think Thunder deals double damage to Pokemon who have used Fly.

well i was reading my ruby/sappire guide and i tryed to figure out the best set and found thunders ability and went "oooohhhhhhh" and tryed it with the pickachu example in the front of the book (witch is irrelevant)
and that is my reason
btw: you should have light ball as an item for the double special attack for the pichu family (i think)

I can only vaguely make out what you are trying to say in your post.
Here's the deal on Thunder. It does normal damage, whether the foe is using Fly or Bounce. Its accuracy is 100% in the presence of Rain. Other than that, I don't think there's anything else that would affect how Thunder works.
As for the Light Ball, it only doubles the Special Attack for Pikachu. Doesn't work for Pichu (I think), and definitely doesn't work for Raichu.

well fine the i'll tell you EXACTY what the book says on the attack move Thunder
"Thunder Electric 120 70 10 1E N TM25
Description - 30% chance of causing the opponent Paralysis. Accuracy becomes 100% when it is raining, but drops to 50% when sunny. Attack strength is doubled when used against a Pokemon using fly"*

I am quite sure that its strength is not doubled when the foe is using Fly. The Prima Official Strategy Guides do have errors in them from what I've heard

And from what I've seen. Dude, you don't want to take for law the word of something that says, and I quote, "You can choose either Water-Type Mudkip, Grass-Type Torchic or Fire-Type Treecko."
The Prima guides are not correct. The amount of mistakes in the Emerald Guide alone makes me wonder if they authors even played the game...
My point is, which do you trust more - TK and sN0wY who've played Pokemon probably longer than both of us and could cream us with their hands tied behind their back? Or a book that reckons Torchic is a Grass-Type? You choose.

Gust is the only move that does double the damage when the other Pokemon is in Fly.

Many of these errors are typos, but I still loath Stratagy guides because they plain suck. Take this for example:
Steven's Pokemon are:
Lv. 84 Claydol
Lv. 83 Cradily
Lv. 86 Armaldo
Lv. 85 Aggron
Lv. 82 Skarmory
Lv. 58 Metagross
Horrible, horrible, horrible source of information.

The Prima guidebook for Colosseum listed that the trainers in the Deep Colosseum have Pokemon at levels in the 80s (with Deep King Agnol having a seemingly out-of-place level 70 ). For some reason, I believe Prima must have mixed 6's and 8's around in all their Pokemon guides.
But to get back on topic, I've tried using a Light Ball on Pichu, and it doesn't seem to work, so the Light Ball must work on Pikachu only.

Yes, it works only on Pikachu, according to the Main Site. I've mentioned that as well.
