Whenever people get around to making them. It's mostly a volunteer project anyway, like it was with all the Gen 4 mini-icons.

It means someone has to put in hours and hours of work to make the icons from scratch. Please stop making it out to be a simple process.

I never said it was a simple process. Please stop putting words in my mouth.

Ooo. Volunteer you say? What are the maximum dimensions? Do they have to be sprites?

(three guesses what I am driving at, second and third don't count)

It appears that all of the Pokemon smilies are 32x32 pixels in size. I guess people good at scratch spriting could contribute some.

I would gladly contribute if possible! Just tell me when, how, and anything else!

PS: Dibs on oshawott, dewott, samurott, emolga, and victini!

With all due respect to your dibs, how is your speed?

(I can take criticism or a flat-out "this isn't what we want anyway.")

NOTE: Anything stated in this post should not be construed as the position of the Psypoke leadership, but only as my personal opinion

If anyone's going to volunteer, there are a few things to keep in mind:

1) Ideally, one person should do all of it to keep the style consistent.
2) Whoever does end up doing them should take a close look at the sprites for the previous four generations; it shouldn't be too apparent that the fifth generation sprites were done by someone else.
3) Don't volunteer to do them unless you're actually going to do them properly.

Oh... *Reconsiders for a minute*
Yeah. I'm game. But only if someone else will help.

Aha. It didn't appear to me that the previous icons were consistent at all. Most of 'em look like they were taken from the earliest available sprites (in itself creating inconsistency overall) and then there are things like... {sunflora}. Doesn't appear to be derived from any particular sprite. Or {jumpluff}. Has more colors than an 8-bit sprite and looks more based on gen 3, making it a fish out of water next to the other gen 2 ones. {jolteon}, I don't know where this one came from at all.

And I like that variety, myself. But even then, if it's sprites you want and sprites only, stop me now.

The sprites really are not consistent at all. The Gen I ones were basically stolen from a site that had icon-sized recreations of the Yellow sprites. I think the Gen II Pokemon were mostly from Mew Heart? Amphy resized the Gen III Pokemon's sprites from RSE and we slapped those up. Then we did the icon contest for Gen IV's Pokemon and that alone had like ten different contributers. And on top of that darkmind would make her own icons to replace really bad existing ones, which she did for Pokemon like Jumpluff and Heracross, plus whichever newer ones we convinced her to make, like Togekiss and Breloom.

With all of that said, Skeleton, I do think your sprites are significantly different in style, although I think they're cute and kind of funny.
