A while ago I was breeding a female {skitty} to a male {pikachu} in my sapphire version, and the baby had thunderbolt and thunder -- two moves that were not in the Breeding Info part of its psydex entry. i think there are many more it can learn...

Also, breeding female {delibird} with male {blastoise}, {pelipper}, {pikachu} etc. produced babies that had Fly, Ice Beam, Rain Dance, and Double Team -- all moves not in its breeding info on its psydex entry (finally, a delibird that has useful attacks...not just Present...)

perhaps people could breed some pokemon and find more moves pokemon can learn by breeding? cuz i would find the info very helpful in the psydex

well, i had a primeape that learned Overheat via TM and also had Mega kick and strenght. Then after breeding him, the mankeys had overheat, strenght, and mega kick. I think that mega punch can also be egg moved.

That happens because babies can also inherit TM moves their fathers have, as long as they can also learn them. If you check its learnset, you will see that Skitty can learn both Thunderbolt and Thunder via TM, that's why the baby inherited both Pikachu's Thunder and Thunderbolt. The same goes for the baby Delibird: It can learn Fly, Rain Dance, etc. via TM/HM.

And now here is a tip: If you are going to use a 1-per-game TM (Rock Slide, EQ, Dark Pulse, etc.), teach it to a male Pokemon, so he will be able to pass that TM to other Pokemon of the same Egg Group.

And also, if you need a certain TM move, you can search for a Pokemon that learn it via Level Up and breed it to pass that move to other Pokemon.
For example: If I want a Wailord with EQ, I could train a male Camerupt until he learns EQ and breed him with a female Wailmer, and the baby Wailmer will have EQ in its moveset.

The moves in the Breeding tables are moves that can be learned by a Pokemon ONLY through breeding. Anything that can be learned by a Pokemon via level-up or TM/HM can be passed on through breeding if it's in the father's moveset... this has pretty much been common knowledge since Gold and Silver.

Oh...I see -- i didn't know that...
I had this idea that delibirds couldn't learn anything but present and TM/HM couldn't be used on it...so i was trying to figure out breeding chains for moves i wanted :shock: then after seeing the posts i went and checked.

sorry ^^;

You could have consulted the Psydex to see what moves Delibird can learn, via its Learnset page: http://www.psypokes.com/dex/psydex/225/learnsets

You can also learn more about breeding Pokemon on our site's breeding guides

Breeding info for PD here: http://www.psypokes.com/lab/breeding.php
Breeding info for GSC: http://www.psypokes.com/gsc/breeding.php
RSE: http://www.psypokes.com/rselgfr/breeding.php

Hope this is useful! (:
