{hypno}@leftover/lum berry
Nature: Jolly (+spd, -sp. att)

{umbreon} - Jolly/Lum
~Mean Look
~Baton Pass
~Attract/Double Team/Charm/Confuse Ray/Sand Attack/Taunt
~Charm/Confuse Ray/Attract/Double Team/Sand Attack/Taunt

{meganium} - Bold/Lum or Salac or Lefties
~Rest
~Leech Seed
~HP Ice
~Toxic

Don't look at Umbreon; her main role is to BP Mean Look to Meganium. Both, of course, must be the same gender. Female preferably.

Hypno: Looks good, but after a little research, I found that it's already on the main site and there is a slight variation in the standards. I have already edited the one in the standards.

Meganium: First of all, Attraction cannot be BPed, so that part won't be bothered with. Otherwise, I guess it's worth a test with that type of strategy.

Also, a new part of the rewards system has been established. Now when you contribute to this and your set gets changed into a standard or edited into one, you'll receive 5 Psybucks. However, previous ones (other than this current one) will not be accredited as they would be extremely difficult to sort out and organize.

Sunny day-flamethrower combo.Also a toxi-trapper.Set up block,then toxic,then sunny day,then F-thrower

Given how Sunny Day weakens Water moves, the Toxi-trapping strategy might be effective if the foe relies mainly on Water types to counter Pokemon like Golem. However, given the number of weaknesses that Golem has, it's still not very viable. Moreoever, the foe can switch in someone to use Solarbeam in a single turn. In addition, Golem's Special Attack isn't good enough for it to use Flamethrower effectively. That's my verdict, but once again I'll need a second opinion =)

I'm not an official rater, as you know, but I can say that I've had a fair amount of success using a golem with fireblast on the switch to a grass or steel type. Sometimes it works better than EQ on a steelix.

Hi, haven't been here in a while. I have a Blissey set for you!

{blissey} @Leftovers
+Def, -Atk
252 Def, 88HP, 168SAtk (Same as Bolt-Beam competitive Blissey)
~Calm Mind
~Flamethrower/Fire Blast
~Psychic
~Softboiled

Much like the one in the psydex, it is an excellentg pair. The only 2 to resist are Tyranitar and Houndoom. Brn lowers the Attack (No burn Clause), giving Blissey survival, while pschic lowers the Special Defense, givinbg it more fire power.
Easy to pull off in-game, easy to pull off with Netbattle.

If this was already posted, don't kill me, just delete it or something.

Oh, yeah, give Blissey 00 Attack IVs, so that when its confused, it does less (same thing for all SAtk ers, and remember, if the IV calls for 31 attack, give it 3 [or 3mod4] and if it calls for 30, give it 2 [or 2mod4]. If no HP, give it 00 [info obtained at <http>])
I just tested it, takes alot of prediction.

Edit: I don't kknow about this flygon set, but works for me:
Flygon @Lefties
~Flamethrower
~Crunch
~Giga Drain
~EQ

Works nice. most expect dragon move and physical attacks. good for a sandstorm team. Checked on netbattle by me. works alot of the time.

daveshan: That's fine; everyone is free to comment. I'll leave the final verdict to tiger10x.

Peanut-Lover: Similar Blissey sets have been posted, I think. They were deemed to be too similar to the Serene Grace Togetic already in the HoF. Perhaps someone else can confirm that?

For the Flygon, we already have a Standard Moveset with the moves Crunch, Flamethrower and Giga Drain, with your only different move being EQ, so while the moveset works it doesn't qualify as being creative, unfortunately.

Golem: I really don't think that it would even survive to work. First of all, it relies on Block working. The only chance is if the opponent doesn't switch before you use Block. And why wouldn't someone switch to a Water-type immediately? Well, there's the chance that they attack with a Water or Grass attack, but why would you stay in there if you know you're going to get attacked with one anyway? I just don't see it going on too well, but I can do a little testing to see if I'm right or not.

Blissey: I thought that we had a standard of this, but apparently we don't. I've already added it, and the bolt-beam variation, to the standards list.

I've also started testing, too. I might be able to finish the list by tomorrow.

lol, i didn't realize about the flygon set. my bad.
The blissey thingy, however, should be new. people usually use bolt-beam, without realizing the benefits of psychic and flamethrower (emphasized w/ mewtwo all too often, and its a common set for psychics to use HP fire or flamethrower or fire punch

Lol, I think i have another set. this time for rayquaza:

{rayquaza} @Leftovers
Modest, Timid, Neutral natures
~T-bolt
~Ice Beam
~Crunch
~EQ

Hits SE on about anything not pure normal, fighting, sableye, forretress/scizor, pure darks, and thats it. Only others that do it are smeargle, T-tar, Gyarados, Rhydon, Kyogre/Mew (substituting crunch for HP Dark), Sceptile (Ice beam for HP ice; t-bolt for t-punch), and i think thats it.

As with Flygon, Rayquaza's set isn't all that new of an idea. It's just plain sweeping; move variety adds no creativity factor.

And to comment on Blissey, it really isn't all that new. It was actually first proposed a long time ago but never really got tended to for some reason. :?

What does it take to get into the Hall of Fame? Why isn't my Blissey there?

You don't get a set in the HoF and the standards. It's usually one or the other.

Results:

Meganium: No, it had a lot of problems just getting working, even if I managed to trap the first opponent effectively. It looks okay at first glance, but it just didn't work that well.

Golem: No, and I even didn't need to test it much to find out. Also, Fire Blast/Flamethrower on Golem or most any other Physical Sweeper is good but not so much when it's the only damaging move.

My Kecleon:
Kecleon @black belt?
Ability: Color change | nature: -sp. atk., +atk.
EVs: 129 atk., 252 HP, 129 def.
~Skill Swap
~Faint Attack/thief
~Double Team
~Focus Punch

Skill Swap color change onto opponent, faint attack/thief it to dark, double team a little bit before deleting it with focus punch. EVs and nature for increasing power of focus punch, as well as making it last before it sweeps with focus punch.

Author:  tiger10x [ Wed Nov 15, 2006 6:36 pm ]
Post subject:

Kecleon and Skill Swap isn't very creative, and that would just count as another variation on how to do it. Sorry. :?

My Favourite:

[kyogre] @ Chesto Berry
> Rest
> Ice Beam / Thunder
> Surf
> Calm Mind

Use ice beam/thunder to paralyse/freeze your opponent than calm mind to raise your sp.atk. Later, kill your enemy with surf/ice beam/thunder. If your HP gets low, use rest and wake up with the Chesto Berry. I call it a "chesty-rester"

Well, it may be your favorite, but it's not creative enough to be considered for testing in this topic. The set has the same idea as the standard.

Hmm... I dont really want to divulge this an have people steal my wonderful idea. But im going to come right outta the closet an tell ya!

Dragonite. Speed Up!

<Wrap
<Toxic
No need for any other moves... Possibly D/P's Feather Rest.

Sorry, but there's already a set in the HoF with the Wrap + Toxic idea for Dragonite:

Quote:
Dragonite @ Lefties | Inner Focus | Jolly Nature
Wrap - Toxic - Sandstorm - Brick Break
EVs: 252 Sp. Def 129 Spd 129 Atk

What about this annoyer set for moltres?

{moltres} leftovers 252HP 129Def 129Spdef
-Fire spin
-Toxic
-Protect
-Fly

Toxi-traper, protect and fly give more time for the poison to work

Or this tank set for latias

{latias} leftovers
-Charm
-Calm mind
-Recover
-Dragon claw

Charm will ruin physical sweepers and after a few calm minds it will be almost imposible to beat with special attacks.

What do you think?

Author:  tiger10x [ Mon Dec 25, 2006 6:58 pm ]
Post subject:

A little bit of a delay, but I did manage to get ahead of the game in return.

Moltres: There has been a brief history of similar sets tested with similar Pokemon. It has already been tested previously and didn't work well enough. (Check back a few pages if you want more details)

Latias: I'm not personally a fan of moves like Charm, but the idea's okay. I also managed to test this one a little (the getting ahead part), and after a little tinkering around with it, I suppose that it can go into the HoF. :)

The best anti-tank in my thoughts:

{dusclops} @ Brightpowder
~ Mean Look
~ Toxic
~ Seismic Toss
~ Counter
A anti-tank plus toxi-trapper; 2 in 1. Counter to deal with PhSweepers.

Creative movesets?

Hm...I did quite a few of these, I called them my "Delta Pokemon." They would be Pokemon that excelled in different categories other than the usual ones...

{blastoise}@Lefties
Adamant
252Atk
252Speed

Brick Break
Return/Body Slam
Iron Tail
EarthQuake.

The idea is an all out physical sweeper. People would be cautious, assuming that since you will be predicting their moves to use COunter and Magic...coat? No, that's not right...well the special version of Counter, they will use a stat boosting move, leaving you free to sweep.

{persian}Focus Band
Jolly
252 Atk
252 Spd

Attract
Swagger
Psych Up
Return/Shadow Ball

This is the set that would lead the opponent into thinking it was an all out annoyer set. However, though it has some aspects, it becomes a Special sweeper. You could replace Attract with Shadow Ball if you think you are lucky and want a move that can counter Ghosts and Rock types, but if a Steel type appears, run!

{gyarados}@Lefties
Modest
252 Sp Atk
252 Spd

Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Flamethrower
Hydro Pump.

I know, it doesn't have the stats, but it would certainly trick the opponent. You send out Gyarados while they have their Aggron, they switch, waiting for you to use EQ, as most DD Gyarados' carry it. They swich to something of the flying type or Levitate, whereby you use an attack that takes them out. Thunder Wave could replace any of the above moves to catch them on the switch in.

{yanma} Focus Band
Jolly
252 Atk
252 HP

Toxic
Protect
Detect
Baton Pass

I love this one, I have it on my Emerald version, and it pwns.

Use Toxic to begin with, praying that if the opponent does hit you, then FB will kick in. The Speed Boost will allow you to outrun most Pokemon, letting you alternate between Detect and Protect, whittling the opponents HP away while Speed Boost gives you ample time to boost you speed! Then you Baton Pass when you have had six boosts, allowing you to pass six increases of speed onto a slower sweeper (Snorlax? Good for a laugh...)

Post subject:

Dusclops: That's not much different from one of the standards.

Blastoise: I guess it's okay for a test, but I'd doubt that it would be very effective.

Persian: Same as Blastoise.

Gyarados: It's not a new idea, and it doesn't work that well in general either.

Yanma: First off, Protect and Detect do not work together continuously. Second, Yanma doesn't even get Baton Pass, so whether you have it on Emerald or not makes no difference.

Also, Focus Band isn't a great item because it rarely (10%) works, and that will hardly ever make a difference. It would be replaced.

I'll see if I can get some testing done soon.

I'm not very creative but let's try...

-Seismic Toss
-Toxic
-Snatch
-Mean Look

Basic: Trap, toxic, when the pink egg witch try to
cure herself...snatch on the face(bye-bye sofboiled and aromatherapy...)

2*:Mind War

{gardevoir} @Lum B. /Syncronize
Modest
Ev:Hp:200 Sp.Att:200 Sp.Def:
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt
-Calm Mind
-Snatch

Strategy:Calm mind to encourage the foe to do
the same (if he have it),the on the next snatch it,so
they will be force to attack(mainly)The calm mind again...
Then keep doing this until get tired and kick him off.
(Good to show the big time legendaries who is the boss.)

{kingdra} @Liechi B./Swift Swim
Adamant
Ev:Hp:4(Indivisible by 4) Att & Speed:Max
