With a speed raising nature and max EVs Porygon-Z does. But, it doesn't have good speed without the speed-raising nature (its neutral stat is around 216 I think).

Thaen use a speed raising item, or focus band.

EDIT: Fixed up my darkrai set, now it's truely invincible.

I have a suggested set for Yanmega by the way:

Yanmega @ Leftovers/Wise Glasses/Lum Berry
Modest/Timid, Speed Boost
6 HP / 252 Spd. / 252 SA

Bug Buzz
Air Slash
Hypnosis
Whirlwind

- I know Hypnosis, Air Slash, and Bug Buzz were posted already, but Whirlwind on Yanmega is a nice option (this set works the best in Single battles). Yanmega use Hypnosis on the opponent, the opponent will most likely stay asleep. Yanmega then uses Whirlwind (which brings out the next poke) or it can sweep. Plus with the speed boost, it raises its speed each turn, basically outspeeding everything (except the occasional Ninjask). Wise Glasses and Lum Berry are also an option on this set.

Also, if you use this set in Double battles, it goes well with the pokemon & set:

Umbreon @ Leftovers/Lum Berry/Brightpowder
Careful/Impish, Synchronize
252 HP / 252 Def. OR SD / 6 Def. OR SD

Taunt
Baton Pass
Swagger
Psych Up

- Umbreon can Swagger the opponent, plus Psych UP the opponent's raised Attack, and the speed boost Yanmega has. Then, it can Baton Pass to a physical sweeper (Let's use Gallade as an example) and you can basically OHKO every opponent.

I have suggestions for ditto....

Here's what I think would be a few good movesets:

{ditto} @ quick powder/quick claw
Limber (duh), Timid/Jolly
EVs: 252 hp, 252 speed, 6 defence (<almost completely random)

transform (duh  )

Hp helps cover up his one weakness, speed helps him get his transform in there early.

{ditto} @ metal powder
Limber (duh), Impish/careful/calm/bold
EVs: 252 hp, 126 speed, 126 defence/spec. defence

transform (duh  )

Lets him last long enough to get the transform in there. Not as good as speedy in my opinion.

Empoleon is a much better Special sweeper than he is physical, and I would really replace Surf with Hydro Cannon, it's much more powerful and has dependable Accuracy. Also, one physical move does not make it a physical sweeper.

How can {vespiquen} learn Defend Order? It supposedly learns it at lvl. 13, but it doesn't evolve from {combee} until lvl. 21???

From the first post of this thread, can Metagross learn Fire Punch? I checked on the Pokedex and I don't think it can. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Metagross CANNOT learn Fire Punch. Of the elemental punches, it can only learn Thunder and Ice Punch. Anyway, I have a physical sweeper set for Togekiss. It's unusual, but it could work.

Togekiss @ Liechi Berry/Wide Lens
Adamant, Hustle
252 Atk. / 252 Spd. / 6 SD

Substitute
Extremespeed
Focus Punch
Roost/Baton Pass/Aerial Ace

- It's an unusual set, but it could work. Extremespeed is a great option because it has 80 BP, it gets STAB, and you attack first. Liechi Berry is good because it gives you that extra boost of attack that you need. Roost and Baton Pass are both good choices, but Aerial Ace gives you defense against ghost types. So, what do you think?

Also, about Empoleon, it is both a great physical sweeper, special sweeper, and tank. I have some suggestions for sets.

Empoleon @ Wise Glasses/Choice Specs/Quick Claw/Expert Belt
Modest/Bold, Torrent
252 HP / 129 SA / 129 SD

Surf
Flash Cannon
Ice Beam
Grass Knot/HP Electric/HP Grass

- Surf and FC for STAB, Grass Knot or HP Electric/Grass for waters, Ice Beam for everything else.

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Calm/Bold, Torrent
252 HP / 129 Def. / 129 SD

Whirlpool/Surf
Toxic/Yawn
Aqua Ring
Double Team/Substitute

- Yawn + Whirlpool work well together.

- I know the movesets for Empoleon give a phys. sweeper, and a variation of a tank/annoyer,

I have a suggestion for Kingdra

Kingdra@ Choice specs
Modest 252 sp atk 252 spd
Dragon Pulse
Ice beam
Surf
Signal beam/Flash cannon/Hidden power

The idea is to hit ur opponent before it hits u dragon pulse provides stab so does surf. Ice beam to hit flying and grass, signal beam to hit remaining types same for flash cannon and Hidden power. This moveset should allow u to hit neutral damage on all pokemon

I came up with a special sweeper Claydol set.

Claydol @ Leftovers
Modest/Bold/Calm, Levitate
129 Def. / 252 SA / 129 SD

Earth Power
Cosmic Power
Charge Beam
Ice Beam

- Special sweeper with defense. Cosmic Power to defend, Charge Beam to raise SA.

Claydol @ Choice Specs/Wise Glasses
Modest, Levitate
same evs as b4

Earth Power
Psychic/Grass Knot
Shadow Ball
Ice Beam

- Oh, if you put Hidden Power, say which type it should be (HP Electric, HP Grass, etc....). Either would work on Kingdra if you wanted.

EDIT: I also came up with sets for Sceptile:

Sceptile @ Choice Specs
Timid/Modest, Overgrow
6 HP / 252 Spd. / 252 SA

Leaf Storm
Hidden Power (Fire)
Dragon Pulse
Energy Ball

- SpecsTile. Leaf Storm and Energy Ball for STAB, Hidden Power (Fire) for steel types. This is defintitely one of the best Sceptile sets, and it has great type coverage.

Sceptile @ Leftovers
Timid/Modest, Overgrow
6 HP / 252 Spd. / 252 SA

Energy Ball
Hidden Power (Ice)
Leech Seed
Substitute

- Special Drainer.

Sceptile @ Petaya/Liechi Berry
Timid/Jolly, Overgrow
6 HP / 252 Spd. / 252 SA/Atk.

Energy Ball/Leaf Blade
Dragon Pulse/Dragon Claw
Hidden Power (Fire)/ThunderPunch
Substitute

- Sub sweeper. Please put moves together accordingly.

Sceptile @ Choice Band
Naughty/Naive, Overgrow
252 Atk. / 252 Spd. / 6 SA

Leaf Blade
Earthquake
Dragon Claw
Leaf Storm

OR

Sceptile @ Choice Specs
Rash/Naive, Overgrow
6 Atk. / 252 Spd. / 252 SA

Energy Ball
Dragon Pulse
Hidden Power (Electric OR Fire)
Focus Punch

- Mixed sweepers.

There's an error on your Mewtwo.

Quote:
Mewtwo @ Leftovers/Choice Band
Jolly | Pressure
252 Sp Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
~Bulk Up/Ice Punch/Fire Punch
~Earthquake
~Rock Slide/Stone Edge
~Psycho Cut

Physical Sweeper. *****

Surely it should be 252 Attack EV's?

Author:  Ghett0 [ Sun Nov 18, 2007 12:09 pm ]

Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash
Adamant | Rock Head
EVs : 252 atk, 252 spd

Rock Slide
Dragon Claw/D. Pulse
Aerial Ace
Thunder Fang

Rock Slide for STAB, Dragon Claw/Pulse for coverage against Dragonite, Earthquake for Fighting type coverage, and Thunder Fang for water type coverage, and for fending off Skarm. And, Focus Sash for the common Ice Punch Scarf-Weavile, which can then be countered by Rock Slide.

Aerodactyl @ Choice Band/Life Orb/Expert Belt/Muscle Band
Jolly, Sturdy
6 HP / 252 Atk. / 252 Spd.

Stone Edge/Rock Slide
Aerial Ace/T-Fang/Fire Blast
Earthquake
Dragon Claw

- This works better. I don't know why Dragon Pulse would be put in on an Adamant set. Fire Blast could possibly work, but I don't recommend it whatsoever. Also, I have more sets.

Metagross @ Choice Specs/Leftovers/Life Orb
Quiet, Clear Body
252 HP / 28 Atk. / 238 SA

Meteor Mash
Psychic
HP (Fire)
Grass Knot

- Meteor Mash > Flash Cannon, even on the special set. Psychic for STAB, HP (Fire) for Bronzong and Skarm, Grass Knot for Swampy and other waters.

Deoxys (LG- defense) @ Leftovers/Lum Berry
Bold, Pressure
252 HP / 6 Def. / 252 SA

Calm Mind
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Recover

- This was one of the 3rd generation sets, but it works well here too. Ice Beam and Thunderbolt have great coverage, while Recover shrugs off damage. Definitely a set worth mentioning.

Would this Latios set work?

Latios@Soul Dew
Modest/Timid
252 sp atk 252 spd 6 hp
Draco Meteor
Calm Mind
Psychic
T-bolt

The idea is that first you use Draco Meteor, with Soul Dew it gives a hard hit, then switch Latios out and then start all over again. Calm Mind can give extra firepower to strengthen the Draco Meteor. Psychic is for STAB.
The last one is your choice

You definitely need Timid > Modest. Latios really doesn't need Calm Mind. This set may work better:

Latios @ Soul Dew
Timid, Levitate
6 HP / 252 Spd. / 252 SA

Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteor
Thunderbolt/Thunder
Hidden Power (Fire)
Grass Knot

- HP (Fire) is needed to KO Scizor and Forretress. T-Bolt/Thunder for Gyara, and Grass Knot for Swampert and Rhyperior. Latios is really too fragile to attempt Calm Mind or Dragon Dance, so this set would work better. Anyway, I have a special set for Slaking, I wonder if it works.

Slaking @ Choice Specs
Naive/Hasty, Truant
6 Atk. / 252 Spd. / 252 SA

Giga Impact
Thunder/T-Bolt
Fire Blast/Flamethrower
Ice Beam

- Slaking really has a great special movepool, especially w/ BoltBeam. The question versus Thunder/Fire Blast OR T-Bolt/F-Thrower is a question of wanting accuracy versus power. You can use T-Bolt with Fire Blast, which is the combo I would recommend. Ice Beam kills pesky Dragons. Giga Impact on Slaking though will still cause a major dent, with 357 Attack and STAB. Life Orb can also work, but Slaking's SA then gets up to only 375/376, so I would recommend the Specs more.

On the physical sweeper cleffable, I think you should replace brick break with drain punch to make up for the lost HP from belly drum.

Author:  IcyShock [ Thu Jan 03, 2008 5:48 pm ]
Post subject:

One of the problems with Drain Punch is that it has severely low PP. Brick Break really should be used. Even FP can do better.
