First thing's first; Amphy, if you feel this would end up as spam, by all means, go ahead and delete the topic. It might end up coming to that.

Now, this will be a simple competition. I give you a riddle, and you will answer. Whoever gets it right will then ask the next riddle. The only rules are the following:

1) NO GOOGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2) When you ask a riddle, it must be DIFFICULT. Don't ask one's that everyone knows the answer too. If you don't have a difficult riddle, you may elect someone else to ask the next riddle.

3) You are only allowed 1 guess per page (default per-page-viewing) and can make no more than 3 guesses total.

Now, to prevent this post from becoming spam, we need an objective, and this is it: You want to ask the riddle that no one can solve. A riddle must go COMPLETELY unanswered for 72 hours before you "win" the competition. If you win, we'll start a new competition, E4 permitting.

That should about cover it. Now, for the riddle:

How many times can you use the word "that" in a row in the same sentence, and still be gramatically correct. And, to prove you're not guessing random numbers, use it that many times. GO!

3.
"I would guess that that 'that' is a different color than that 'that'.

(The "thats" in quotes represent a noun-type "that", like a written one.)

Bob is writing down the word "that" twice, but misspells the second "that".
Sarah therefore says that, that "that" that that boy has written down is incorrectly spelt.

Five. But I'm not entirely sure if that's grammatically correct.

I'm a riddle in nine syllables
An elephant, a ponderous house
A melon strolling on two tendrils
Oh red fruit, ivory, fine timbers!
This loaf's big with its yeasty rising
Money's new minted in this fat purse
I'm a means, a stage, a cow in calf
I've eaten a bag of green apples
Boarded the train, there's no getting off.

This is a famous poem by a poet whose just had a film made about his/her life. What is the poem talking about? Read between the lines and apply all those extremely useful English literary techniques.

For a bonus point, who played the poet in the film, and which country was it filmed in? :D

Well, since I am familliar with this poem, I'll just provide the bonus information ;)

The poet is played by gifted actress Gwyneth Paltrow, and was filmed in the one and only New Zealand :P (and also in some studios and soundstages in the UK). The director also happens to be a Kiwi.

A kiwi is a person who lives in New Zealand. Amphy and TK are both kiwis.

Yup, Rayquaza's right, the poem is about a pregnant woman.

The poem is very delicately written, with each line being nine syllables in length, and the title, "Metaphors" being nine-letters in length. This relates to the nine months of pregnancy.
More over:
- The saying "bun in the oven" relates to "This loaf's big with its yeasty rising"
- "I've eaten a bag of green apples" refers to morning sickness
- "Money's new minted in this fat purse" is something new (a baby) inside a fat purse (mother's womb)

The poem was written by Sylvia Plath, and the film details were all correctly named by Nido.

While at the state fair this year, I spent some time at the games. There was a carney who wanted to make a bet with me, and I couldn't refuse. He bet me $50 that he could write my exact weight on a piece of paper. I looked around, and I didn't see a scale; this guy was gonna trust whatever I said I weighed!

I'm now short $50. How?
