They are all legendaries, unique, one-of-a-kind. And DNA beat me to that.

If you're thinking that they each created something, then you're off - Ho-Oh doesn't fall into that category.
This would be relatively simple were it not for the Ho-Oh throw off. They don't have exclusive moves either (Ditto also has Transform).
Sigh, what else could draw them together? Oh, I know...
One way or another, they are all strong Fire-types. It's almost like the Ditto question from before, except a bit different (Mew by using Transform, Arceus by holding a plate)...Ah well that's all I got.

I thought Ho-oH created the three dogs with it´s pink flames! D:
If what I say is true then, every one of those three are related because they created something, like Arceus creating Time and Space, Mew being the ancestor of all pokes and Ho-oH being the creator of a trio of dogs.

Either they can all learn Bite and Odor Sleuth OR they are their generation´s doggies/cute four-legged things that evolve just once.
The fouth Generation (I think) lacks one of these, but who cares? the second gen lacked Fossils.

They all appear in Super Smash Bros. Melee as secret characters.
Extra note: All are low-tier (in SSBM).

Close, but no cigar. There's just a little bit missing from your statement.

The generation number for each is the same as the order that they appear when their trois are listed in the National Pokedex: (articuno, zapdos, moltres: articuno is 1st listed and first gen. Raikou, Entei, Suicune: entei is 2nd gen and 2nd listed. Regirock, Regice, Registeel: registeel is 3rd gen and 3rd listed.)

Both a no go. GroudonKing's was almost there, but I'm looking for just a tid-bit more info to go with that. Here's a little hint: What do the trios these Pokemon belong to all have?

They are all part of a legendary trio in a region and they are the least used out of the others?

They are all part of a legendary trio, each trio having three beings that are related. Articuno's trio contains three birds, Entai's contains three dogs(dogs debatable, but you get the point), and Registeel's has three beings made up of their type and have brail on them.

Well....
That Articuno is part of a bird trio...
Entei is part of a dog trio...
and Registeel is part of a golem trio... (by golem I mean the ledgendary creatures made usually from stone but the can be made of other things, and not the Pokemon Golem)

I thought blaziken had it on the dot! Oh well.
They are all part of a legendary trio, and by bringing all three together, you unlock a fourth (Lugia for the birds, Ho-Oh for the dogs, and Regigigas for the golems). Well, that's kinda poorly worded, but the point is clear.
And AABM, about the creating dogs thing, I'm pretty sure I haven't seen any Pokedex data about that.

I know this is crazy, but here's my guess.
They all have RED.
Articuno has red eyes, Entei has a red crest, and Registeel has those seven red dots.
And one each from a trio.
