So I've decided to run a Word Puzzle contest after seeing all the riddle topics that are all Pokemon related and not at all the kind of world puzzles I love so much. Some require a lot of thinking, trial and error, and some are the kind of tricks that make you want to pull out your hair. But they're all pretty entertaining, so let's get started!

The contest will consist of 15 questions. One question will be posted at a time, and the first person to reply with the correct solution (and why) will get one point. The person with the most points at it is winner.

1st Prize: 100 Psybucks
2nd Prize: 75 Psybucks
3rd Prize: 50 Psybucks
Participation (at least one point): 5 Psybucks

Rules:
1. You can only answer once for each riddle.
2. What I say goes, it's my activity.
3. If a question goes unanswered for 48 hours, the next question will be posted.
4. PLEASE try not to find the solutions on the Internet, because that makes me a saaaaaad panda.

Question Number One

Fill in the blanks using two different words that are anagrams of each other.

"The man had trouble _______ in time for the red light because of dog's _______."

You have 48 hours.

Also, you need an ending date, JameJame.

I said fifteen questio... oh whatever.

Well, I'm going on vacation on the 29th, so if it's not done by then, that's the ending date.

Err... No Kirke, not quite. :P

Hint: Both works, although anagrams, begin with B and end in G. (Now really, this is too easy...)

You put two horses in the honeymoon stall, and rest rest can stay in normal stalls.

-_- I Hate MATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crap, I gotta stop geting C's in math if i wanna get somewhere in life.

Lemme think. If it doubles itself, It will be 7 over a quater of the number? Am I right? Welll I'm gonna start at 2. (wait a stupid second its definitly not 2 cuase the first number to have a quater is 4.......HEADBANG!)
4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Math skillz away! I was surprised I could do this one, but I can!

Your problem when put numerical form becomes

2X=x/4 + 7

8x=4X/4 +28

4x/4 cancel out, becoming...

8x=x + 28

Simple algebra here...

7x= 28

x=4

The answer is 4!

Author:  DNA [ Tue Jul 03, 2007 3:23 pm ]
Post subject:

The double exceeds its quarter by 7? If I read you right, you mean:

2x = 1/4x + 7
(subtract .25x from both sides)
7/4x = 7
(multiply both sides by 4/7)
x = 28/7 = 4
Therefore, x = 4.

Err... Please don't start arguing in my competition. Since I'm not a mod, I can't delete your posts, but I'd greatly appreciate if you did that yourself. The next person/people to do something like that will have their points taken away and will be banned from this game. Understood? Great.

And yeah, Munchlax911 got it.

Question Number Five:

Give each letter a numerical value between 0 and 9 to make the statement true:

SEND + MORE = MONEY

Similar letters represent similar values (example: if A = 7, all the other As would also = 7) and no two letters represent the same number (example: If A = 7, B can't = 7, etc).

Now can we please not fight this time?
That makes me a saaaad panda.

If you're not going to try, really, why bother posting?

Question Number Six

Each of the following boxes represents a common phrase, term or saying, in a graphic format. Simply try to decode what each is trying to say, and you'll do fine.

I don't think I need to mention this, and frankly, if you did this, you're stupid enough to deserve it, but try not to post if you've only got half the answers. You need all of them to get the point, and you might be giving someone the only one they don't have.

The puzzles can be found at this link. Yes, I did them myself, in paint, please don't complain about my lack of artistic ability.

Good luck!
