Some multiple attack moves are good sub-breakers. One hit gets the sub and the rest get the HP. Another thing you could do to help would be to use Quick Attack, Mach Punch, Extreme Speed before the sub is made. Yet another thing to use is the attack Taunt to stop using it or any non-attacking move.

tiger covered most of em, another common one is to roar away the poke with the sub up, in effect cause him to waste a quarter HP

Use Attract. Simple as that. Or Rock Blast/Other Double hit move.

Armaldo/Golem are VERY nice 'Jask counters, so is a nicely done Gengar with Taunt and Mean Look, and also an Extremspeed Canine and Quick Attack Zangoose.

ah, thansk for feedback i was aware of most of them but didn't know attract works neither did double attacks.

do moves hit2-5 work the same like bullets seed and if you trap them with fire spin, wrap etc can they still baton pass?

i believe that the easiest way is to bonerang cuz its powerful and its a double hit. its the easiest subjolt counter. i laugh on netbattle when my oppoment's jolteon faints cuz of my marowak.

I laugh at nubs too.

Roar and Whirlwind get rid of non Suction Cupped'd, Soundproofed'd(if using roar), or ingrained'd substitutes.

Seismic Toss and Night Shade take out 100- HP subs easily.

And also just doing enough damage to break the sub works too iirc. =/

If they are subbing to buff up, bring out a hazer or pseudo-haze with Perish Song (Perish Song's count down transfers with the BP).

Ways:

1st: Use moves like Quick Attack. If you are lucky, you may KO your opponent.

2nd: Use Mud-Slap or Sand Attack to reduce opponent's accuacy. If you are lucky, the move may miss.

.................Don't mention those two awful moves again, especially when THE SUBSTITUTE BLOCKS STAT REDUCTION

To summarize it There are really two effective ways of countering substitute. Since it is mainly used by subpunchers, setups, and jask

1. Marowak uses bonemerang. A variety including rhydon, armaldo, and golem learn rock blast. dont even concider fury attack, double kick, or double slap. please dont

2. Roar/Whirlwind. Every team even built to be competitive has a roarer, and a seriously competitive one has maybe 2, usually at least one being whirlwind, since it blocks the BP chain of using mr. mime. For skarmory, for example, HP Flying+Whirlwind>>>Drill Peck+Roar

3. Quick Attack, Mach Punch isnt as good as it may seem in this situation. Since most jasks have protect and sub, they BP off before the Quick Attack will finish them unless you have a very high attacker. Quick Attackers or Mach Punchers belong on EVERY team in at least 1 or 2, but high octane attackers dont have the moveslot usually for this. A SubPuncher is slow and can usually take a hit, QA is more common than Mach Punch. Focus Punch gets off before whirlwind... so only do this if you can take the hit

The methods are covered pretty well. Either Roar/WW it out, Haze it, or use multi-hit attacks.

These days my starters generally carry a psuedo-hazing move or I have a pokemon that won't get nerfed by Jask-passing.

For instance when I use a starter Aero, instead of DE and Rock Head I use Pressure and make the last move Whirlwind. Jask just hates it when I break 2 Subs and then Whirlwind out its recipient.
