Besides most of the people that you see using a team of all Ubers are the little kids that don't know what they are doing anyway and thus can be easily defeated.

True dat, I once took down a team of Ho'oh, Mewtwo, and Lugia on PBR using only a Cresellia because the kid didn't know squat about Pokemon battling.
EDIT: I also took down a team of Arceus, Giratina, and Palkia using only a Porygon-Z and a Gyrados. Same situation

Some people probably still will do that, spamming sleep powder's and double team's, but I know I'm not going to.

Good man.

I am just going to learn how to stand by people on BW if I encounter Sleep spammers and Evasion newbs.

I really hope the online battling doesn't come to sleep spamming. God I hate Darkrai.

The worst possible outcome is once the sleepvasion spamming starts, so many competitive battlers start saying "if you can't beat 'em join 'em" that sleep clause and evasion clause are obsolete. But I doubt it.

Reading up on sleep it seems to work a bit differently now.

Sleep is capped at 4 turns max, with you waking up and attacking the last turn. So it can disable you for 3 turns max and a min. of 1 turn.
The "sleep counter" will reset if you switch out of battle. EX: use rest, sleep 2 turns, switch out-back in, sleep 2 turns again.
Sleep talk will work normally when choiced.

Not sure if that's worse or better, choice scarf+guts+sleep talk :) sleep-shuffling :(

Found some info on random match wifi battling:

Unrestricted is 6v6 free battle, unsure if there is a ban list.
Flat rules are 3v3singles 4v4doubles/rotation 6v6 triples, all pokes are lv50 "battle tower/sub" ban list. Also You see the opponents pokemon before the match and you choose who to bring (Just like PBR, this may be in unrestricted as well, but can't confirm)
Miracle shooter can be ON/OFF for any match.
Seems to be no sleep/evasion/ohko clause option.

This could ruin suicide lead popularity to some extent. This is my reasoning:

Double power explosion from jolly azelf vs. max hp/154def hippowdon: 95.7%-112.9% (75% chance for ohko)
Gimp explosion in same situation: 48.1% - 56.7%
Double power explosion from jolly azelf vs. 240/216 swampert: 104%-123% (Guarenteed ohko)
Gimp explosion in same situation: 52.4% - 61.8%
Double power explosion from jolly azelf vs. max hp/4 def (taunt lead) gliscor: 122.9% - 144.6% (Guarenteed ohko)
Gimp explosion in same situation: 61.6% - 72.6%

Keep in mind this is a pokemon with 125 base atk.
Between this and DrizzleToad, Electrode is almost completely useless.

Wow, im likin this. {Quick question though, to see a pokemon in the dream world, does it need to be registered in your dex(not sure if this is where to ask)} Finally some good pokes get good abalities.

The changes on the moves, ill wait and see in game. As for the whole "exposion" thing, I cant battle other people, so it doesn't really bother me.

I'm not sure but your question would probably be answered in the isshu region forum

I am wanting Ulgamoth. Base 100 Speed. Base 135 Special Attack. Plus his attack that ALWAYS raises his Special Attack. It is going to appear on my competitive teams.

It has horrid type coverage, focus blast is it's best bet against steels.

Same as above, it's coverage is almost the same as Rapidash and is 4x SR weak. Love it's stats though.

Of course there's always hidden power.

Bug/Fire/Psychic hits everything except Heatran. Of course, there's HP Ground for that. But it's coverage is fine, especially with possibilities like Fire Blast and (DW) Swarm Bug Buzz (the SR weakness can actually help here)

All Ulgamoth needs is Butterfly Dance, Fire Dance, Psychic, and HP Ground. Like EP said.

Or, if you have ninetales support, use Butterfly Dance/Fire Blast/Solarbeam/HP Ground.

I would go with Bug Buzz rather than psychic. Otherwise, you got completely owned by Tyranitar, since a +1 hp ground with Modest and life orb will only do 55.4% - 65.3%. Meanwhile, you're getting Stone Edged into oblivion, but Bug Buzz OHKO's every time :) Additionaly, Bug Buzz gives you great coverage.

Oops, I didn't see it had Psychic, I just saw Fire/Bug/Flying and fail phys. electric.

do we know if there is a way to trade pokes from gen 4 games to gen 5 yet?

Author:  MasonTheChef [ Wed Oct 20, 2010 12:28 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Gen V Changes. NOW WITH DREAM WORLD ABILITIES

Cannot trade, but gen IV can be moved to gen V with the pokeshifter (after national dex)

It's just a mini-game like pal park, but a different game and there no day to day limit. Items and HM moves cannot be sent.
The shiny dog trio and celebii need to be transfered differently I believe to activate the events. Something with DS download play.
